Help Selecting Cable using the G-System

This will tell you absolutely EVERYTHING you need to know about configuring and setting up your G System in 4 Cable. You need to follow Laird's instructions exactly, and use exactly the components and type cables he suggests. I set mine up with my MK V in 2009 and it's worked perfectly ever...

    My "B" effects rig

For any still interested, I've gigged several times with this rig...it works excellent! I'm thinking of buying a Huges and Kettner Red box and keeping it in the gig bag with this. In the unlikely (but potentially tragic) event of an amp failure on a gig, I'm confident that I can just plug this...

    My "B" effects rig

A couple of you may have seen this on FB, but for others... I run my MK V with a TC Elec G-System hooked with the 4 cable method. Excellent. Using a Mini Amp Gizmo, the rig does everything I want. I play at my church often, and althogh they provide great amps (including Boogies), the effects...

    Tattoo!

Not that I got a whole lot of interest from the first post, But I figured I'd post the finished tattoo...just because I like it!

    Tattoo!

Hey all...I've been away from the board a bit, but still gigging, still playing with Mesa gear...I will try to make time to get back on... And now for something completely different.... After almost 46 trips around the Sun, I decided to get inked. A lot of thought went into this. Since 17...

Help With Mesa Boogie Mark V G System Set Up

The arguably best and most complete setup guide for a G-System is Laird Williams' white paper on the subject. I used it and FOLLOWED HIS ADVICE EXACTLY and had absolutely zero problems setting up, or gigging and recording with it for the last 2+ years. You can find it on this link...

    Nova Drive???

I have a Nova Drive in the rack with my G-System. Since I use the MkV, I don't need it to provide OD for a clean amp...the MkV has all the drive I need, but I do use it to enhance...and with that use, it's awesome. Also, using it with the G-System, its parameters show up on my G-System's patch...

    Reverb Pedals

I don't know what your "bank" is, but my favorite stand-alone reverb pedal is the T-Rex Roomate. I used it with both my Road King and my MkV.

Can the Mark V effects loop be controlled externally?

I know I'm a little late to the thread, but I've gotta agree with the other posts. I use an RJM Mini Amp Gizmo, and I love it. Everything that is footswitchable on my MkV is now MIDI switchable through my TC G-System. A great product. RB

Post Your Rig! Must Include a Mark V.

Alex Lifeson uses Palmer speaker emulators...and has used them for decades...that's good enough for me.

How many using mini amp gizmo?

I use the Mini Amp Gizmo with a TC G-System and a TC Nova Drive, all in a rack. The MAG works flawlessly with the G-System, is very intuitive to use, and generally makes my life easier on stage.

    Custom Combo Cabinet Idea

Cool Idea....my only concern would be the rising heat from the tubes causing problems with the rack unit. Also, knowing guitarist's penchant for "more"...what if the one rack space just wasn't enough any more? RB

How old were you when you started playing?

Cool work on the Explorer, Jackie.

How old were you when you started playing?

Just a little curious...I was reading the "First Axe" thread, and was noting the disparate ages of some of the first guitars we all had...so, naturally, it got me thinking....how old were you when you started playing? What year was it? How old are you now? Also, maybe contrast your first guitar...
