W/D/W home rig - 3 amps - what dry cab?

Hi, So, i have 3 amps: 1) Mesa Boogie Mark V 2) Mesa Boogie Dual Recto Reborn 3) EVH EL34 100W (soon to be purchased) I´ll build a W/D/W rig for home playing in order to retain the punch and clarity of each selected amp. I`m thinking a relatively compact rig, because too much volume can become...

Problems with your Mark V...it's you.

Στον πουτσο μου ρε βλακα. Και τι μου το λες? Θιχτηκες? Hey man, whatever works for you. There are no rules. I've done both ways in recording sessions and for me, with the plethora of amps that are out there today, there's no need. There's not much of a difference in the overall result...

Just bought my first Mesa, a Quad Preamp, struggling to get diverse tones from it.

I had the same experience. Very narrow sounding and uninspiring. More like the preamp for the '80s LA session guitarist whereas, you have this full on fx clean ch.1 and the same full on fx lead sound on ch.2 Other than that, it's distortion has this signature gain, only good for metallica...

    Which attenuators?

I think your best bet would be the fryette PS-2, as far as tone quality is concerned for the overall attenuated sound coming from your speaker cabinet. Other than that, it's a rabbit hole.. You could also try the reamp solution. You can take the signal from your amp (fx send for preamp only...

    Which attenuators?

Hi there, Have you seen this? https://mesaboogie.com/tone-tools/attenuators/index.html I would personally go with BOSS’s Waza Tube Amp Expander though: https://www.boss.info/global/promos/waza_tube_amp_expander/

Problems with your Mark V...it's you.

Although this is very true for the most part (ask me how I know - i was recording a death/thrash album and discussed that very topic with the sound engineer extensively), I can't forget how easy it was, to play the same riffs with a Peavey 5150, EVH 5153, Engl, even my mark IV and Quad preamp i...

    N A D: TC-100

Oh! Hey man, thanx for your reply. I was just reading other threads and just saw your reply.. Holy ****, A year later! **** me. Anyway, i haven't bought anything yet cause i'm not sure about it. I'm thinking an EVH Stealth might do the job better, i don't know..

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

Maybe you love your amp to death, that's great. For me, mk4 it's all about ch3. Everyone knows that. Ch1 clean is too compressed & second channel = who gives a **** 👍🏼

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

I don't regret selling it though.. Maintenance issues for such an old amp, tone inconsistency and ONLY 1 awesome tone, made me sell this thing. Otherwise it would just be a luxury keeping it.

Mark III blue stripe vs Mark IV??

https://youtu.be/qQNZu68kJR0 It almost makes me regret selling my mark IV (No A/No B) some years ago..

    New screen format?

I actually like this change. The eye goes straight into the discussion topic, rather than the poster and his personal info (which is rather secondary/useless info).

    Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Hi there, I'll sure give it a try 👍🏻 You know, about your mesa mark mod, I think you should do it. Make a thread just for that, explaining every single detail and change value you made. That way, everyone like me (who is completely useless with an iron in his hand) could just print the whole...
