I put an inline switch on mine for silencing the fan when recording. It can get a really hot chassis on a long gig in a warm venue. You can’t hear the fan in a stage situation, but I’ve considered updating the 30 odd year old original to a modern quieter one.

mesa cleans are as good as anything.. lot of range on the controls, esp. the treble. I can dial in any clean sound could want with my MKIII. It is an out and out professional muso’s amp.

It's grey toward front panel of amp and white toward the rear on mine. I did plug mine in the wrong way round once! Farty sound but no damage.
