I also have a LSS with a Gold. Plugged in my newly acquired TA15 - exceptional tone! Loved it. I think you'd be fine pushing a Gold with the TA30. Heck, it's rated for it.

you need a TRS cable (aka, stereo 1/4 inch cable) from the amp to the foot switch. less than $20 from GC. That should fix your problem. If not, call Mesa.

Gotta chime in (EL-84 jokes, anyone????) in this one. Love the LSS. Every once in a while, I play another amp, then go home and apologize to my LSS for thinking anything could top it. Rock on.
