    Stiletto ACE fx loop

Hey there! Try this: Use some contact cleaner (e.g., Deoxit D5), spray a 1/4 cable and push it in/out of the send and return jacks on the amp a dozen times or so. You can spray as much as you want - it shouldn't hurt anything. Let it sit overnight with the cable in. Both my Ace's (combo and...

    Celestian Creambacks

Hey Riff, how do you like the bias mod? Does it really make that much of a difference?

    Stiletto Ace in the Wild

Still love mine. Looking at the Tripple Crown and although it has reverb, 3rd channel, perhaps a more usable EQ and warmer, and all the other stuff, I still love the Ace. Happy to say I found it used for $700. This one is with a Strat w/Dimarzios and an EQ mid boost for the lead (yeah, it's...

    Stiletto 1x12 cabinet questions

I prefer the C90 with my Stage I than the V30's. I don't think my 1x12 is a Stiletto cab - its a 3/4 closed back widebody. Mids are a bit more tamed.

    EQ for the Stiletto

Like dmain, I also use a strat. I find that I have to back the tone knob to help tame the highs. But (when I'm not being lazy) I do use an M-108 in the loop from time to time.

recommendation: use humbucker pups with the Stiletto

Yep - I rarely turn the gain up past noon with my Deuce. Also generally use a strat (Pearly gates in the bridge) and 2 2X12 w/V30's and nobody has ever said my tone is ice-picky or shrill. Will vary the trebble and presence based on the sound's reacation to the room. Although my stage 1 LOVES...

    Where's the party at?

I use the same pedal with my Deuce Stg I and love it.

    RANT!

I'm insecure and hormonal too at 41yo. Or, as I prefer to put it, I'm 17 with 24yrs experience. :P

    Greetings from the other side

Hey there - welcome to the Stiletto forum. I made the same trade a few years back for similar reasons. I miss the DR at times (functionality, 3 channels, etc...), but for the most part am happy I did it. And, like you, also could not pull the thickness out of the DR. But one CAN tame the...

    stiletto for blues?

Not to derail the post, but I couldn't agree more with this statement. No matter which amp and guitar combination I use, I still sound like me. With some older recordings I have, I'm not even sure which combinations of these I'm using. Maybe its my ears failing me, but I can't get away from...

    Where's the party at?

I disagree. It's a lot easier to dial in usable tones with a Stiletto than it is with a Recto or Mark. You'll find yourself fine tuning any amp every once in a while. I'm in this camp - I grew up on Marshall, then used a DR for 4 years or so and had to almost completely re-learn how to play...

    Where's the party at?

I was thinking the same thing too as I check new posts every few days - but many of the topics on the Stilettos seem to have been beaten to death and not many new folks are joining the family. Wondering if all the action is in the newer Mesa amps these days. The thing I can't get around with...
