Which 2 12 Cab for me?

Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum, but can't seem to find one that fits.... I am looking for a MESA 2 12 cab that will work best for my home studio. I want to be able to use a couple different heads with it depending on what I'm recording, I have a 65 Dual Showman head for clean stuff...

New 1*12 Cab Advice...Newbie to Mesa

Yes I have, but as I said, the mini is not the only head I'd be wanting to use, I'm looking for something that will do many styles well.

New 1*12 Cab Advice...Newbie to Mesa

I'm going to start recording live amps at home, and I'm looking for a good speaker bottom that will work well with various heads. One of the first heads I'll get will be the new Mini Rectifier, but I also do country, pop, etc, so will be using other low wattage heads with this speaker cab, which...

How to Repair Hole in Amp Grill?

I have a chance to get a great deal on a Lonestar Combo from a dealer who says it has about a 1 inch whole in the grill...would this be hard to repair...or would you guys go for this? Thanks Tom

    Torture!

Yeah I played the combo at a local store, just an amazing amp for what I like...which is...a little of everything. It really seemed like all the things I love about Fender plus great overdrive, which I never thought Fender's sounded very good at. Can't wait! TH

    Torture!

Well, ordered the Lonestar Head. Good news: MESA had one, and shipped it to my dealer. Should arrive in a few days. Then, ordered a Lonestar 2*12 Cab. BAD NEWS: MESA says 4-6 weeks. So I will be sitting here staring at the head for weeks. Patience is a virtue I hear;) TH (who will report...

2*12 Cab vs Rectifier Cabs for Lonestar Head?

I actually played the Lonestar combo at a shop recently, then had them hook it up to a Recto 2*12 cab they had there, because of what Andy Timmons had said about it sounding great. It really did. I didn't sit and nitpick a lot because I didn't have time, but it did seem a bit more focused...

    OK...Finally Auditioned a Lonestar...

Hey thanks for the Welcome! It's funny when you said you had pretty much decided on it after you played your first chord....that's just about how I felt...hit a few chords on the clean and said to myself "Yep, THAT is how a clean channel should sound." I had just heard so much about the clean...

    OK...Finally Auditioned a Lonestar...

Are most of you guys playing the combo or a head and cab, and if head and cab, what is the consensus on best cab? Thanks Tom

    OK...Finally Auditioned a Lonestar...

Yeah I've been home now for hours and I can't get the sounds out of my head. It was like, every other amp I tried did something good...like the JCM800 was bonecrushing for rock....and the cleans were awful. The Vox did it's thing pretty well, but didn't get the crunch that I was after, etc etc...

    OK...Finally Auditioned a Lonestar...

As I said in another thread, I'm a studio guy looking for an amp that does great cleans and some overdrive...no metal. But everything from Beatles to country to jazz to pop to alternative type things. The gamut. After reading about this, and after listening to reissue Fenders, the Marshall JVM...

    New Boogie User Lonestar Questions..

Yeah I've always like heads/cabs over combos. I think because my first decent amp was blackface Bassman in the 60s;) If something goes wrong with the amp, I can just bring the head, etc. But I'm looking forward to this beast. All the clips I've heard of it are very impressive, sounds very...

    New Boogie User Lonestar Questions..

Well I've kind of listened to a lot of amps lately. I grew up with most of the usual suspects and now use amps for studio work only. After doing a lot of listening, I started getting curious about MESA. I have had very little experience with MESA, always thinking of them as hard rock amps. I do...

Does This Sound Like A Mesa?

Yeah I suppose it could be anything. The tightness can be deceiving, because many times in pop music that is ultra slickly produced today, the gaps between the beats are erased (deleted) after the part is played, so there is dead silence between each phrase. This may be making the amp sound...
