Ignorant newb looking for advice on MB Dual Rect or???

The F50 that you mentioned is a good amp (i had one for a while) but i found it not that versatile really compared to other Mesa's. The overdrive is kind of a cross between a Rectifier and a Mk series. Very cool if its your thing but i personally enjoy the Mini Rectifier i have now more.

    NAD. Mini Rec. Help.

Ah ok yeah the buzzing sounds about right until the volume is up enough. It's a shame you aren't getting on with it, i have to admit i don't really play mine at home much because with a wife and young kids i'm restricted on when i can make some proper noise. It's a great little amp when it's...

    NAD. Mini Rec. Help.

Is it still buzzing? If so on which channels/modes? I'm kinda surprised you don't like it, just wondering if there any issues which are holding it back, maybe a bad pre amp valve?

    150 watt practice amp

No you won't be doing it any harm at all. For the record i've got a Mini Rec and it's ok for quiet home practise apart from Modern mode - It won't do that quietly... I've never tried a big Rectifier but i have heard from numerous people that they are in some ways better for quiet home use. So...

Should I swap my Mini Mark for a Mini Rectifier?

I've not played a MK5 but i do have a Mini Rec, which i gig regularly. I agree with Elvis, it sounds like it might be the amp for you. It's easy to dial in (start with everything at noon and adjust to taste), i'm not sure how close the cleans are but little Rectifier has great cleans. Drive...

    Mini Rec tube life

Glad to hear you are enjoying yours, i wouldn't be without mine - Its fantastic. So to update the thread, i ordered a couple of Tungsol and JJ's, with the Tungsol in v1 and JJ's the rest it sounds really really good. Wasn't keen on Tungsol in v2, just didn't sound right to me. Interestingly i...

110v Tremoverb plugged in to 240v

The fuse is easy to check Just up from the mains input socket you will see it, its behind a black plastic circular cover. Chances are this has gone, but its also more than likely taken out your transformer too unfortunately. Best thing to do is find a good amp tech and let them see whats...

110v Tremoverb plugged in to 240v

If you're VERY lucky it's just blown the main fuse - have you checked it? But more likely i'm afraid it's blown the transformer. Theres a company in Germany called TAD that can supply you with a new one, then its a case of finding a competent tech to fit it. I use a 110v Boogie here in the UK...

    Mini Rec tube life

That's the plan, i've ordered a couple of new ones so i can try them out, will be interesting to see if it makes any difference.

    Mini Rec tube life

My Mini Rec was born in 2012 and as far as i know the preamp tubes are the ones it left the factory with. I'm beginning to think they might be past their best, its a bit undefinable but lately its not been satisfying me tonally - I replaced the el84's a couple of months back with did make a...

    tube rolling.

I ended up with Svetlana winged c 6l6's, and a mix of Tungsol and JJ preamp tubes. If memory serves v1 and v2 were Tungsol, the rest JJ's. My F50 sounded like magic with that set up, really alive and punchy.

    F-50

Basically turns the effects loop level control into a master volume. Its got a nice taper on it, you can turn the channel volumes up quite a way and tame it with the effects loop control. Works really well.

    F-50

This forum can be quiet yeah, but also i found there don't seem to be many F50 owners on here. I would say yes, you can get good tones at home volume. Cleans you will have no problems, channel 2 you will need a volume pedal or eq in the loop, or the modded patch lead trick. I do miss mine...

    F-50

Yes but for channel 2 i did the modded patch cable trick (google it) or you could use a simple volume pedal in the loop. It sounds good this way but when you get to crank it it sounds awesome, however the volume level when it really comes alive is pretty **** loud! I should also add that it...
