    The Mark V in general.

It's good that we try to emulate our hero's but ... I absolutely agree with "OldTelecasterMan". Go for your own sound because somebody else already sounds like Petrucci or S.R.V. ...and all of those trying to copy them perfectly are just that, a copy. I have seen so many musicians get completely...

Preamp tubes, or that and more?

I just had a recto tube crap out on me and the 45 watt setting on all 3 channels went completely dead. I do have a new hum going on as well but I hadn't made the connection to the reverb circuit. Just hum. So now I sit and wait for FedEx to bring me a new glass bottle of joy. (and a back up) I...

Best Delay for Mv in Fx Loop?

I have a TC Electronics G system AND a Nova system. The G system sounds beyond belief. Deep Lush tones. In all respect's it is literally Pink Floyd in a box. Whereas the Nova is considerably less in all departments. I'm completely underwhelmed with it's Delay, Chorus and Overdrive. The...

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

Doh ... Great suggestion to hide the pops during snare hits in the music. Who da Thunk it. Much thanx to jjsnibor. I am insanely crazy about this amps capabilities to do ... well ... EVERYTHING. Tone, versatility, power, this amp does it all. As I get a few "work around's" for the issues that...

The next Mark - what would we need?

Midi ... Cab Clone ... oh yes, at the very least. I would like to see them separate the effects loop and it's input control from the "Main Volume/Solo Volume" circuits. I four cable a G system into my Mark V and when you adjust the "Main Volume" or kick in the "Solo" it changes the gain...

New Mark V: Loud Channel Switching Noise in 10 Watt Mode

My Mark V pops every time I switch a channel. Every variation of power range settings has been tried and it still pop's. In an earlier exchange it was suggested cycling through the channels a few times to dissipate static. That seems to work for a short period of time, like while you're doing...

    Mark V Reverb delay

screamingdaisy "It's also not unheard of for someone to join this forum, get upset over something not meeting their expectations, regret how much it cost them, then air their disappointment with Mesa in a very public (and generally negative) manner... and some of us don't have a lot of patience...

    Mark V Reverb delay

From the many different responses to my post, I feel I have collected enough information to comfortably live with the lag time on the reverb. AND a good work around for the popping sounds when channel changing. The "Don't like it ... take it back" and "You're nitpicking" posts were not nearly...

    Mark V Reverb delay

I tried cycling through the foot switches to dissipate static and I do believe you guys are on to something there. After several cycles through each button she seems to settle down for the most part. I still get a tiny bit of a pop but you would have to really listen for it to hear it. I think...

    Mark V Reverb delay

OK ... "Lef T" made me laugh. Oh man ... I've done that too. I think we should go get a beer and talk this over I use every channel on my amp as I don't use any dirt boxes. I don't care for the sound of Battery/diode distortion and love the smooth rich texture that my Mark V produces with tubes...

    Mark V Reverb delay

At this point my choices are ... This amp ... or ... another one (at the dealers) that does the same thing. My dealer says he thinks this issue is odd ... "never heard of this before." But the mother ship says an "Up to 2 second delay" is normal ... Mine is a tad bit longer than that. Others...

    Mark V Reverb delay

The pops are always there ... and at any volume ... BUT not too loud usually. Every once in a while it will pop pretty good but overall ... tolerable I guess. The reverb issue is not. Whatever the reason for the muting ... the delay is way too long. The first comment by everyone who has heard...

    Mark V Reverb delay

The only two issues with my Mark V is the popping and the Reverb delay. In all other aspects this is a great amp. I can understand the popping if the power scaling was set differently from channel to channel but when each channel is set the same and It still pops then I believe something is up...

    Mark V Reverb delay

(As an example) When I'm playing a Rhythm thang ... and then switch to lead, I usually have the first 3 or 4 notes come out dry. My dealer thought that was rather excessive too, so today he's busting out another Mark V to see if it reacts the same way. He says he has never encountered this issue...
