Here's my DC-5 with both the 2x12 Vertical Recto and a 1x12 cab made from an old Crate 210 combo cab.

Opened up my amp (DC-5) and the resistor is not on the volume pot. Obviously it's on the circuit board. Is it the one directly behind the pot kind of hidden under the big blue capacitors?

Doesn't have the mod to my knowledge. Was thinking about doing the mod. Contacted Monsta-tone for the drawings. I haven't used the loop at all yet but was planning to. If I use a jumper and that's the fix what do you do for a long term fix besides run the jumper?

Ok then, just for the sake of asking, I assume preamp tubes. Could power tubes be the issue?

Thanks Edward, I'll try that but I've had issues with tubes in other amps and it seems different. Worth a try though and easy enough to do.

50 watts is really too much. Considering trying to trade my DC-5 head for a DC-3. The other option is adapters. Will installing Yellowjackets or the Groove Tubes adapter in my DC-5 essentially give me a lower wattage DC-3? Also most of the adapters come with a set of tubes, when installing...

I have a DC-5 with the headphone feature, my question is how does this work with a 50 watt amp? Could you instead of headphones hook up a cab and drive it for low volume distortion? Would this work, hurt the amp or am I just nuts?
