Re-Amping/Boost Experiment with Rectifier [clips inside]

I've asked ned if he has any idea what happened to it... If I have time tonight I might retype it up again... ugh. What a waste of time!

Seems like someone deleted my post at rigs and tones... what gives? :?

Re-Amping/Boost Experiment with Rectifier [clips inside]

Hey guys, this is somewhat of a double-post... I've made a post over at the Rigs & Tones forum detailing some of my thoughts and experiments with boosting a rectifier. I just wanted to post it here as well since not a lot of people go there and this is the rectifier forum, after all! So if...

    Mark IIC+ for $5000?

Fair play, but how can he say it has low hours on it? What does that even mean? What are low hours for a 25 year old amp? As far as I can tell, as long as it works, who cares how many hours it has? And yeah, I'm sure some chump will cough up 5 grand for it

Good call. A good guitar sound for tape is different than a good guitar sound for live.

    Mark IIC+ for $5000?

Yes, a 25 year old amp that's in mint condition with low hours. That makes good sense. About as much as asking $5000 for it. I'm also Santa Claus, by the way. Tell the guy to stuff it. I don't even think it's worth $3000, TBH.

    Rect-O-Verb which cab is equivalent?

Louder, bassier... that's probably about it  I say go for it. I have two 2x12 cabs and love 'em both. They can compete with 4x12s and they're half as heavy, plus I think they look sweet. If you get one, consider getting something to sit it on, so you can angle it upwards a bit to get a...

recording 3 tracks (left ,right ,center)

Nothing wrong with that, should turn out just fine. The only thing I will say for triple-tracking guitar, is make sure you are TIGHT! The triple-tracking effect really gets lost if you are making small slip ups or are inconsistent in your playing across all three tracks. Obviously I don't know...

Brighter tone - Older Dual Rec

Ever tried cranking the mids all the way up? There are some usable tones in that area.

    More transparent high gain tones?

That should do it. Look for a tube task chart to find out exactly which valve to replace. Or, try sourcing a clean NOS 12AT7 for V1. I did that on my tiny terror and it sounds just awesome.

NA(s)D! Hi Res pics inside - reviews below

Well, Niagara Falls is ... kinda far away, lol. But yeah, there's lots of dirty, grungey bars full of scummy metal-dudes here that would love to hear you play (I'm one of them!) Be sure and post some tour dates when you get them next year.

    Effects in Stereo

Yep, my guess is that after you set it up like that, you will have a hard time playing any other way  I run my Mark IV and Road King in stereo sometimes and the tone is just heavenly, can't put my guitar down.

    Effects in Stereo

Yep, that's how you do it 8) Also, if you wanna experiment, you could run either of those amps' pre-amp out (IE: their loop send) to the other amp's pre-amp in (IE: it's loop return). This will allow you to source the pre-amp of one amp into the power amp of the other amp. So let's say you...

Anyone ever see one of these ?

Sure the hell doesn't look like a 1x20  Also, the guy won't give out the serial number? Fishy...

    My experience with re-amping

I have one part of that kit, the J48, I love it. It's built like a tank. I would honestly feel comfortable throwing it full speed at a cement wall, multiple times. It also sounds great and has more options that I even know what to do with. I use it everyday. That other piece is likely equally as...
