Effects loop clean tone with 4CM?

I'm just not down with rolled back clean tones from high gain settings. Still too hairy on my SLO-100. Back to the topic of using a 4CM... I really like the idea of being able to mix the preamps of my current stock SLO-100 and a future Soldano Decatone Crunch voiced SLO-100. Its really my...

Effects loop clean tone with 4CM?

Because for me: (1) getting good dirty tones out of my high gain amps takes priority over clean tones, (2) some multi-channel amps share an excellent high gain mode with their clean channel: Rectifier Pushed Mode, Soldano Crunch. So I'd be more than willing to go with an "effects loop clean...

Effects loop clean tone with 4CM?

So in this scenario we're using a multi-channel amp with effects loop. Say you have each channels gain set for a pretty well distorted high gain tone. No channel dedicated to clean. Generally speaking, for amps set at high gain, its not very practical nor do you get a decent clean tone when...

    Multi-Watt Triple Recto w/ Dual EL34s and Quad 6L6s?

Specifically I was referring to matching each rectifier tube's bias for the voltage in this 6L6/EL34 mismatch setup. I don't know if it makes any difference. Ah that makes sense thanks. Thanks for all your work! I'll read it over. I think I was really just looking for...

    Multi-Watt Triple Recto w/ Dual EL34s and Quad 6L6s?

First off I'm not interested in KT77s or the RoadKing for combining EL34s and 6L6s... I've been wondering about a Triple Rectifier with dual EL34s in 50W mode and those plus quad 6L6s in 150W mode. You could channel assign dual EL34s or dual EL34s + quad 6L6s using the 50W/150W Multi-Watt...

Two 3/4-back cabinets stacked is soooo loud its almost impractical. It does look cool though. :D

    I'm so lost right now

Maybe he will let you try it out at home for a few days to make a final decision? Also, will you ever want a Mark V instead?

    Let me hear the METAL!!!

Well I just heard the Mark V demo and the "Extreme" setting sounds very "Modern Metal" sounding. So I have to say its gone beyond the "Old School" metal tones that the Mark series is traditionally known for. I'll have to update my earlier comments heh.

    Let me hear the METAL!!!

No, the first tune is a metal tune, but the tone is old school. No on the second tune, its barely metal IMO, sounds more like nu-metal. Both of these are good examples of what I consider "Old School" metal tone even though they're playing modern "metal" music, but for modern metal tone (or...

    Let me hear the METAL!!!

IMO, the only modern metal amp Mesa has ever made are the Rectifiers. Roadster/Road King = Hard Rock Mark Series = Old School Metal/Traditional Boogie Lead Stiletto/Ace = Old School Metal/Traditional Marshall Lead So you're going to need more frontend EQ/boost/overdrive/distortion in order to...

    Buckethead

I came across this interview with him and this is what he has to say about the Dual Rectifiers: He really rips it up at this show and the crowd is really into it...

Custom built amps - testing the waters

IMO, I don't think you could make it.... the consumer guitar amp market is already flooded and competing is even more difficult with cheap toneful amps like the Blackstar HT-5 being built in Korea. You'll have to come out with something different sounding to stand out and even then look at...
