    Bought a Mark VII!

I just got mine. Yes it sounds and feel better than the JP2C to me, but I'm finding it, like the JP2C, harsh sounding in the IIC+ mode. I'll try tube rolling to see if I can get better results. For reference, I'm getting a closer IIC+ sound out of my IVB for sure.

    JP-2C sellers - what's missing?

I agree 100% with this. I went from a Mark IV to a JP2C expecting it to sound at least as good as the IV at low volumes, but was dissapointed at first. This amp just begs to be unleashed. I feel the gain is a lot more organic sounding than my previous Mark IV when cranked, and I find the tone...

Which tubes did you end up using on the JP2C?

    JP-2C sellers - what's missing?

I almost traded mine for an Axe Fx II rig but decided to stick with it. My problem is that I have to play at low volumes most of the time, and to me is the worst sounding Mesa Mark amp at low volumes. The low end at low volume seems a bit too much for me, but cranked the low end sounds pretty...

Who else is planning on swapping tubes?

What about preamp tubes? Which 12AX7 do you guys recommend to be played with the STR-415 ?

    JP-2C loop issue?

Is this extreme enough to be able to hear the problem with the loop or not in your case?

    JP-2C loop issue?

I'll take a picture when I can to see the position of the volume knobs when it starts to do what it does without the mod. I thought it shouldn't happen at all with the mod done. The volume knobs in my amp are different because I can't play very loud at my apartment at the moment, but I know...

    JP-2C loop issue?

Mine was supposed to come with the mod done in the factory, but it seems that it doesn't. I'm pissed off about it because I emailed Mesa with the amp's serial number before purchasing, and they told me it had the mod done before leaving the factory. And my amp also came with the piece of paper...

    JP2C disappointment

What guitar are you using and which pickups? I had a similar experience when I got mine, until I tried another guitar and it sounded very different. With my guitar it was missing punch and tightness on the low E. With the guitar I borrowed it was like everything I wanted out of the amp, even...

Who else is planning on swapping tubes?

I bought two pairs of Mesa labeled STR-415 tubes. Are these safe to use in the amp because they're already matched by Mesa? Also, how are the tube pairs handled by the amp? Are they AABB or ABBA? if you know what I mean.

Got my JP-2C yesterday, some questions

Thanks a lot guys! I'm going to see if I can crank the volume a bit this weekend. When putting back the stock tubes, I swap them in different positions, and I find that it sounds better now that when I first got the amp, so I don't know if one of the tubes is going bad.

Got my JP-2C yesterday, some questions

Wow! With the EH tubes sounds much much better to me. Getting the tubes in the sockets was a main PITA though since the sockets are inside the chassis. Any tips on how to align the tubes properly when inserting them?

Got my JP-2C yesterday, some questions

Thanks Markedman, As all the mark amps and Mesa preamps I've had, I don't like the settings that are in the manual. Would you like to share some of your settings?
