    Mwahahahahahahahaha

If I were you I would strip the paint off the grill and leave it like brushed steel, maybe with a clear coat. Or even paint it to match the wicker face plate on the head!!! That would be cool...

        Not sure how it got in there, but that's the funniest thing I've heard all day!!! I can picture it being smart enough to aim into the port. "What's in this hole? Let me pee in it!!" Mwahahahaha!!!

    SPAX 7s in all V positions...Holy S**T!!

They definately make the amp quieter. I do like them and use them in V1 through V4 on my IV. Did the same on my Rectoverb and had similar results. However, I use a balanced GT-12AX7-R2 in the phase inverter position, which is a long plate tube. The long plate design gives less compression...

Smelly Boogie - How Do I Get Rid Of This??

Put the amp and a box of baking soda in a flight case for a couple of days, and that will freshen it up nicely. If you don't have a case, use some other sealed enclosure for maximum effectiveness. 8)

    SPAX7 won't fit into V1 socket

I cut the rubber off and put it in with the can installed on top. Works fine that way too.

    A Mark IV caps question.

BURNED by the master!!!  All jokes aside, no pun intended. Great additude to have when you seem to have done no research. This is probably the best place to get technical details aside from calling Mesa Boogie themselves. If you are not trained to work on amps, it would...

Actual output of 100 watt head

I believe Mesa measures wattage on a proprietary scale. I think they either rate to a specific THD % which would be real low, like less than 5%; or they rate to Peak-RMS. And it could be a combination of both. For example, the Mark IV is rated at 85 watts and the combo comes with a 90 watt...

    my baby has returned !

Lucky no one touched the cap before it was discharged. Not sure about these caps, but some caps include the shell as part of the ground. It would shock you if you touched the shell. Also, I've seen videos where caps can explode if they are wired backwards. Great tune-up and...

    Pentode vs. Triode

+2 I usually use simul/pentode to fine tune the eq knobs and such (mainly bass and presence), and then switch to simul/triode to smooth it all out. Works great. 8)
