Hi. Anyone know how long or difficult a job it would be, replacing the piping on a 2x12 Lone Star speaker cab? It is currently black piping and tolex, but my head has the silver piping which does pop more to the eye and it would be nice if they matched.
If you have some experience of this type...
Good call on the tube. Also check the effects send level control on back of amp. Maybe turn it down and see if distortion goes away? If the send level is clipping the input of a digital effect in the loop that could get nasty.
Do you gig with a band much? Interested as to how much drop in available volume we’re talking. Also, with the 4x 6V6s installed, can you use the 50w setting to use two power tubes or is that not recommended? I imagine you might want to put some marking near the power switch so you don’t...

Ok, so no great revelations here but I did the most intuitive thing and it seems to have worked well. I took a moistened absorbent cleaning cloth (not too wet) and finger rubbed the spots of dirt till they seemed to dissolve away, being careful not to allow enough water to build up to keep it...
Does anyone know the safest way to clean any dried dirt type marks off the black twisted jute grill cloth on Lone Star cabinets? I don’t want to bleach or leave water marks behind and obviously don’t want to get moisture on the speakers.
Thanks in advance for your experienced replies if you...
In the manual for the Express series (pages 24,25), tube V1 is described as "3rd gain stage channel 1 and 2nd gain stage channel 2". V2 is described as "1st gain stage and 1st gain stage clean / 2nd gain stage O.D.". This seems odd to me, I thought V1 is usually the 1st gain stage, making it the...
