Mini Rectifier - Using a Tube Screamer

Not a bad option by any means! Do it. You'll be very satisfied. Do the same thing - Tone in the middle, overdrive all the way off, and level all the way up. It smacks that front end so hard everything becomes so tight and responsive, it's electrifying.

Mini Rectifier - Using a Tube Screamer

I'd take a Maxon OD808 over any other tubescreamer-like boost any day. It's the original, and is so much more transparent than any other. Gain at 0, Tone at noon, Balance maxed out, you'll be in tight percussive responsive thrash rhythm heaven.

    Is boosting a Recto overrated?

I go on and off with mine, depending on the song. I use a Maxon OD808 with gain at 0, tone at 12 o'clock and balance all the way up. So, when I kick it off, there's quite a bit of a drop in gain, since the boost is doing about 50% of the work, but it's absolutely perfect for the not-so-heavy...

Reborn Dual Recs - Less gain on tap than the originals?

They're certainly brighter and clearer! The biggest difference for me was the fact that the presence knob is actually very usable beyond 12 o'clock  I actually run mine at around 1-2o'clock, no harshness. The previous models I had to keep it around 9 o'clock otherwise it was just insane.

Reborn Dual Recs - Less gain on tap than the originals?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the board. Should have signed up a long old time ago really as I've been a Mesa user for years... Anyway, I've owned and played several pre-Reborn Dual and Triple rectifiers. In 2014 I bought a reborn Dual Rectifier, and it's by far my favourite amp I've ever owned...
