So i have 2 quad preamps...one says wired for 220v the other says wired for 240v... they have the same mains transformer in each unit however the 240v has a bit of extra circuitry which looks to be a part of the footswitching circuit... its definitely factory as ive seen it in other pics...

That last message from Mesa is just quoting the manual but the first one where he mentions 10k pot value is interesting... ive got the old parts my tech removed from mine ill go an look at...
Wheres the 10k pot hes talking about? Oscillation was the exact term my tech used when explaining it to me... it really is unbelieveable it went out with that issue i agree.
Im no expert but i believe this is where the volume difference is from (theres also that other 220k on ch2 but i dont know about it)... and you cant simply just replace ch2 220k resistor with a 22k or ch2 becomes unusable noisy and unstable due to the different circuitry that occurs before that...
I used a Triaxis with a 50/50 first... then got a 2:90 V1... modern mode makes a difference and helps those tones for sure... but it is subtle really 5%... is your 50/50 an original or a deep mod? (Both the older black face style) My 50/50 has the deep mod and really sounds excellent for those...
Nice mate... was it expensive shipping to the US? Might consider grabbing a studio or a 2nd Quad or mkiii and sending it over... did you buy both your C+ overseas? Ive never seen one for sale in the country... a few IIC but never a C+.
Definitely sounds better with the C+ power amp... where did you get all these mods done mate... ive seen some of your stuff for sale and its not easy to get this stuff where we live.
Awesome job mate...

Really a bit disappointed in the Quad here... C+ voicing is a little different than the rest... have you got a Triaxis mate?
So you finally got your Quad back from the local tech and he ended up not doing anything to it? And you prefer it massively over the MKV?
Im planning on doing a bit of a shootout this weekend between my triaxis, quad, mkiii and recto... something has to go.
Markedman did you feel the Triaxis didnt deliver the goods when it came to Mark amp tone? Or was it more the fact that it lacks a proper GEQ? I personally dont have an issue with the DV... i bought a Mesa 5 band GEQ pedal to compare and theres really not much difference at similar settings but...
