    Mark V35 review

First of all, I’d like to preface this review that I have owned every mark that has been made. To sum up this amp, it’s basically a two channel amp with six separate pre amplifiers altogether. It was not made to switch modes without having to change the volume and EQ settings. This amp is a...

Speaker for the Mesa Mark V: 35??? Any thoughts???

After playing through all my different cabinets, I chose this Boogie Thiele design with an EVM12L speaker. It has the best all-around tone at moderate volume and was much smoother sounding than all the others. Mesa Boogie Mark V35 & Boogie EVM12L Thiele designed cabinet by John Bazzano, on Flickr

    Awesome Tone at Lower Volume

Using only one speaker will never sound as good as using four speakers, it’s just the way it is, especially at low volume.

Speaker for the Mesa Mark V: 35??? Any thoughts???

The sound combining two Celestion G12–75’s in an open back cabinet along with a EVM 12 L loaded Thiele cabinet sounded the best. I have Celestion C90s, old 1974 Celestion Creambacks, a boogie Fillmore 75 which is highly recommended and mojotone 25 aged speakers that I tried. Mesa Boogie mark...

    Questions about the Studio Preamp

I have a quad preamp and 5050 power amp and compare them to a mark llC+, C++, and a mark four at the same time in the room with a few friends, and we, as metal heads, thought that the quad and 50-50 set up was superior to the other 3 amps.

Speaker for the Mesa Mark V: 35??? Any thoughts???

Speaker? Two speakers or more, IMO, are the only way to go, especially at lower volume.

Is this enough as a power amp? Studio Preamp

I recommend the 50/50. It has a switch to run it at 15 watts, which is loud but manageable. You'll be happier.

91 Studio Preamp in the house!

The studio preamp works best with a Boogie 50/50 power amp. Other power amps are o.k., just o.k., the 50/50 is great and really enhances the S.P. I always find preferences funny. Some people will pay extra to have ripped jeans or relic'd guitars, whereas, some people want zero blemished items...

Mesa Studio pre amp outputs question.

Any thoughts? Yes. Use the effects send as your output to your power amp in. It has less compression and more clarity when you bypass those nasty master volume knobs. If you are used to using effects in the loop, just go from the send to the effects and then to the power amp.

What's your best combination preamp + poweramp

Quad preamp into a 50/50 stereo power amp is about as good as I've gotten. I liked the studio preamp into a Mark IIB, but the Quad preamp and 50/50 power amp is the best I have ever heard. I also run a BBE 822A in-between them. I also owned a Mark IV, C+, and C++ all at the same time. They...
