    OCD v. BB Preamp

I've never used the OCD but I have a BB. It's very different from a tube screamer. I usually have the treble and bass controls on zero, and the gain and volume at about 11 oclock. I use it as a boost, and with no changes to the controls it perfectly fits to each channel. The BB hits pretty hard...

Help me decide! The ol' MKV vs Roadster.

I've only played a Roadster in a music store, for about 15 minutes. But the Mark V is incredible. It absolutely NAILS the petrucci tone. Although it won't be as loose as the Roadster so TOT type tones aren't quite exact, it's so good at everything else that you won't care. MkIIc+ mode nails the...

I cant get any VOLUME on CH1...

Channel 1 is always the loudest on mine. I don't run the masters on 2 and 3 that high though.

    5 Favorite guitar tones:

I think that Neptical cleared things up. While Andy used the Marshalls on the actual track, that guitar player interview has "Resolution" played with the Boogies, so the clip on MB's website of "Resolution" is most likely from that interview.

    5 Favorite guitar tones:

Really? On MB's website, they have had a clip of the title track "Resolution" playing. I find it hard to believe Mesa Boogie would have a clip of one of their artists playing through a Marshall. :?:

    Solo boosts

I have it set at about 8 o clock to 9 o clock. It works really well in a gig, jam setting. But alone I never use it except to boost the volume when switching to the middle single coil on my Jem.

Help me understand the Preset EQ better

I find that I get better high gain sounds using the preset eq on channel 2 and 3. It's usually up around 2 o clock for both channels and fattens up the tone more than a V curve on the graphic eq which tends to be hollower sounding.

New member to the MK V club!

I finally got it! Picked one up from a nice store about an hour away from my house, it was the only combo they had and the guy said it had been sitting there for about a week, and that was the longest a Mark V had been sitting on the floor there! I am continuing to be amazed by it. Although i've...

    BB Preamp w/ Mark V

I have the treble and bass controls all the way down, and volume and gain at about 10 o clock. It really acts as a great light boost that just fattens up any tone and makes the best frequencies sound even better.

    ibanez rg2550z sounds like a$$

Try new pickups, any type of med-high output Dimarzios. Ibanez pickups, even in prestige models are known for being very mediocre. Dimarzios and Ibanez are made for each other.

Mesa announces "Mark 5+" New for 2011

    Question for Petruccis fans

I'm almost positive he used a triaxis on both Cds. If you look in the cd booklet of LTE2 his rack is shown with a 2:90, triaxis and either a formula or studio preamp.

Bugera = Axe FX ?? Stealing a tone is still stealing

I'm pretty sure Axe-Fx is all modeling software, mostly digital im guessing. Where as bugera copies the layouts, knob spacing, design, FRIGGIN WIRING, everything. Except quality.
