Weak output and random popping sounds (Mark IV)

Just in case anyone is following this, amp is now in the shop. Should know whats up with it in 2-3 weeks :?

Weak output and random popping sounds (Mark IV)

So I've noticed this problem with my Mark IV ever since I've owned it (a year and a half approximately) where it warms up like a normal tube amp but for another 10 minutes it will hiss and pop (once or twice every 2 to 3 seconds) and the guitar sound would be pretty crappy (low gain, super...

    New MKIIa.....couple ?'s

I would guess thats a bias pot. Also the Celestion speaker makes me think that mark was modded along the way. Super cool amp though!

MARK V through an Egnater 4X12 Tourmaster Half Stack

sounds cool! I have an egnater 4x12 as well and played my mark IV through it. It moves more air but I actually find the EVM12L in my mark is a GREAT sub for a 4x12. What comes in the Mark V?

Memory man deluxe - how to hook up the "true bypass"

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for. To true bypass the pedal, you dont "hook it up", the pedal simply disengages the circuit completely from your signal. Also to hook the pedal up with two outputs you need another amp. go from the effects send on your amp to the input of the memory...

    Dual Rectifier Blackface cutting out

Ok complaining about service given by Mesa or your local tech isn't really helpful in this case. Sucks you got a lemon but lets focus on the issue here. Lets get this recto workin!!!

    Dual Rectifier Blackface cutting out

I would doubt it's a preamp tube because if the problem is taking down the LEDs, I would think it's somewhere in the main power supply. At least on the positive side if the high voltage is getting killed, it would basically be like putting the amp on standby so nothing is getting fried

Mark IV "popping" when amp is cold

So much for not having time! I guess I'll just have less sleep. Anyway I tried swapping V1 and still got spitting. I hooked up my delay and set it so i would DEFINITELY hear repeats of anything making noise in the preamp. Quiet as a mouse! So I tried swapping V5 since it comes after the FX...

    Dual Rectifier Blackface cutting out

are the tubes staying lit as well? Also are the tubes matched to the Bias switch? If the fuse isnt blowing you may have bigger problems than just tubes. I might guess the choke is no good? If anyone else wants to step in Im very curious about this problem too.

Mark IV's FX loops keeps going quiet

This reminds me of an old fender trick. If youre not using the reverb could you just take that tube out and get a bit of headroom and run the PT cooler?

Mark IV "popping" when amp is cold

Just the power tubes although I do seem to recall getting some spitting and just happened to have a delay pedal hooked up and I may have heard it repeat the spit leading me to believe it COULD be a preamp tube. I'll mess with it eventually but I barely have time to play as it is let alone debug...

    building an amp question

Great! I ended up buying 1N4007s and a 250 ohm 10 watt resistor as per a schematic from a kit i found online from a reputable builder. Thanks for the tip!

    building an amp question

Well i found myself with a crappy sounding crate 15 watt combo and a half working Kalamazoo model one and I figured I could use the chassis, speaker and cabinet from the crate and use the transformers and tubes from the kalamazoo and build my Mark IV a little brother! The kalamazoo uses a 6x4...
