That's ok, I have real experience and I know what I'm talking about. On the other hand - you are one of those "virtual" guitarists who finds his facts on the internet and then gives advice about gear he never even saw or tried in real life. You probably don't even play guitar.

You are a very funny guy, you've never heard a Mesa with Eminence but you got no doubt it would be a downgrade, interesting statement :lol: On the other hand I have personal experience, I own both Celestion v30 and Eminence legend and Eminence is better for Express series. V30 is too fizzy...

turn the amp off completely, let the tubes cool down, do the swap, turn the amp on...repeat as needed :)

LOL you will destroy your amp, don't do that...the two "4 ohm" outputs are for connecting two 8 ohm cabinets/speakers at the same time, for example in stereo setup with two 8 ohm cabs... If you have two 8 ohm speakers in your cabinet you should wire them separately, each speaker to it's own...

You shouldn't worry about that. My 5:25 non plus also has undersized trafos but it sounds great and it can really take a beating so don't worry.

yeah the metal one has a lot better sound...the "punk" one is made pretty raw deliberately plus I was in a hurry :D I'm glad you found a solution that suits you :) keep on rockin'!

Im doing something similar but I'm using weber mass lite attenuator.. I connect my mesa express to the weber as a dummy load (no cabinet connected), then I connect the weber's line out to my interface and load digital cabinet sims/impulses... here are some recordings using that setup...

I've got a 5:25 non plus head...I get preamp signal through the fx send jack normally...when I plug a cable into the return the speaker cabinet gets muted...maybe something is wrong with your amp.. just send an email to mesa support..

8ohm output on the express into the 16ohm box is ok.. if you want to use 4ohm outputs you need to use both of them at the same time...for example with two 1x12 8ohm boxes...thats it! it's explained in the manual..

no cab, I'm using weber mass lite attenuator's line out into usb interface, then I load vst cab sim in my DAW.
