Help getting the most out of multiwatt dual recto

The one single thing you can do to bring that model of Mesa amp to it's full potential, buy an EQ pedal. I like using an MXR 10-band GEQ through the loop to boost the mids, cut some of the lows. I'm sure you've read that using an OD pedal in front of the amp helps to push the Input gain and...

Hi, Saw your combo cab, for sale, is this the same size cab as a Mark series cab? I think the width is the same, but not sure. It's 17in on the is Inside? What would your best price be? Steve

Is there such a thing as a Stiletto Trident Stage II?

I was considering a trade, for my Trident, and got a chance to play it against a Splawn QuickRod. I was surprised at the differences. The Mesa was easier to get good tones at a lower volume than the QR. The QR sounded more Like a Marshall, but didn't quite have the versatility that the...

    More Mods For Those Interested

berumen77, thanks for Posting these mods, I'm very interested in trying some of them. I agree with you on the speaker choice, a Vintage 30 and Stiletto Stage II are a terrible match. I have a question, if you don't mind. If you've ever monitored the bias as you are switching channel modes, in...

    Electra Dyne Ghetto Solo Boost

I know the forum doesn't get used much anymore, but I wanted to share this with those of you that like and own the amp, but wish it was a bit 'more' feature rich, for live playing. I like Reverb. I think the ED has a nice Reverb. A while back I wanted to use this amp in my cover band...

Which single foot switch for a stiletto ?

this is relatively easy to do, if you know how to read a Mulitmeter and know how to solder. I own 2 Stilettos, but I'm not near either of them, atm, so I'm doing this from memory. the original footswitch/cable is a TRS(tip-ring-sleeve) type, or Stereo. tip will be one 'channel' or function...

Question for those with a Mesa Electradyne

I have an Electra Dyne head. It tend to be a bit on the dark side, until you get it up to volume, then it sit in the mix really well. I swapped in a Tung-sol for V1, and that helps a little. I've noticed on mine that the Reverb add a sizzle that is hard to dial out. Also, I've run a volume...

Do I have a hole shaped like a Stiletto?

The Stiletto Stage II is a great amp. Cleans are really good, ifyoui want that. The gain tones very good. I own a Mark and a Recto, the Stiletto doesn't overlap either. The Stiletto is more sounding than a Rec, but not as in your face as a Mark. The bold/Spongy variac, silicone/tube...

Is there such a thing as a Stiletto Trident Stage II?

Yes, I own one. I also own a Deuce stage II. They sound the same, at the volume I play at. The only difference is Trident has a fan in is from Mesa, the Deuce does not

Best Method of changing premap tubes

When I owned a Mark V, the first time I wanted try current preamp tubes in V1, I pulled the chassis out, removed the front grill, and took a jig saw and cut an access hole through the front. Cool to hear mesa is doing this in the JP2C from the factory.

Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Ok,I have to ask: has anyone tried a Friedman BE-OD pedal, and is so, tried it with the JP2C, on the Clean channel? That might be the best of both worlds, Mesa and Marshall

    What is this thing?

The looks like the core of a guitar cable phone plug. I would pull it out with a needle nose pliers

    JP2C vs the rest

This is my experience. I've owned 2 Mark IIC+ amps, and sold them both. Both were great amps, no doubt, but not even good 2 channel amps. I could easily get a fantastic lead, crunch or clean tone, from these amps, but without a pedal or two, it was a compromise to get 2 good sounds. The last...
