I made my own out of 3/4 plywood but I have access to a table saw etc... That would be the cheapest. Boogafunk is pretty cheep if you want to put your own speaker in and paint or tolex it yourself you can buy just the cab for a decent price.

none of the big blue caps look bulged either no wires are fried all the jacks work and I do hear a difference when switching from channel 1/2 it's just that channel 2 sounds clean even when the settings dimed.
