Who runs EL34's in their Rectos?

I'm running JJ E34L's in my 3 ch. DR. I like them a lot better than the 6L6's. Still lots of low end but not so boomy and not as much fizz. Love them.

Dual Rec - How often to YOU have to change the fuse.

Not true. My DR was doing the same thing as the OP the other year. A change of the rectifier tubes and the problem hasn't come back since.

    Dual Recto 3 Channel EL34's?

Wow. I haven't been on here for a while. I run JJ E34L's from EuroTubes and love them! Not as loose as the 6L6 but still have that recto tone that I love. I also like the E34L's better for leads. Seems to cut a little more.

SOLD: 2007 PRS Custom 22 Artist Package

Love the top on that thing. I'd definitely be interested if I had the cash.

    eurotubes and rectos...

I'm running E34L's on diodes and love the tone. Even if the tubes burn out faster, I'm going to keep it that way. I just love the sound of them. As long as it won't harm the internals, I'll keep it on diodes.

    Footswitch not working properly

OK. Thanks for the advice. I've been meaning to get a longer cable anyway, so I guess this is a good excuse to finally get one. lol. Thanks for the info everyone.

    Footswitch not working properly

Jon - Did it affect the entire footswitch or just one channel?

Try Eurotubes. They were great when I talked to them. Very willing to help.

    Footswitch not working properly

Hey everyone. I have a 3 channel DR. Lately, I've been having trouble with my footswitch while trying to switch back to channel 1. I have to stomp on it really hard to get it to switch. All the other buttons are fine. Do you think the switch is bad? Is it replaceable by a local guy or something...

    FYI: Recto #682

Just an FYI, Magdon Music in Olyphant, PA has Recto #682 (revision E?) for sale. It is pretty beat up cosmetically. Didn't get a chance to play it and have no idea on price. Their "guitar guy wasn't in" that day and no one else in the store knew anything about it. Not sure if anyone is...

What 4x12 Should I get for my Dual Rectifier?

I would say find a used Mesa. You've gotta figure that they're built to go with Mesa amps. Plus, they're built like tanks.

Check out ebay. There's some good deals on there. How much protection are you looking for in a case?

    Dual rect @ 50 ?

It really won't lower the overall volume that much. I forget the exact equation, but I think it is only like 3 db or something that it'll lower the volume. If you don't need the 3rd channel, you'd be better off with a single recto or rectoverb IMHO. Save a few hundred bucks and grab an overdrive...

    Mesa for metal

How about a single Recto or Rectoverb with EL34's in it? I just put JJ E34L's in my dual and LOVE it. Really tightens things up, but also keeps the low end there. Did wonders for my tone. I know a lot of people don't really care for Recto's, but I love mine. There are some great tones in there.
