Really digging my Electra Dyne lately.

The best gain boosting pedal I've found is the ol' tried and true TS-9. I use a TC Electronic Spark in the FX loop for a volume boost. The Spark also works great as a gain boost. The Spark will give you a full range, very transparent boost. If you just want more gain, the Spark will do it. With...

Late to the party: New RA100 combo owner

Congratulations on such a wonderful amp! I don't own one, my main amp is an Electra Dyne 1x12 combo. But my friend has one and it's glorious sounding. The only thing is the weight. If I remember correctly the 2x12 combo weighs 104 pounds?! I used to help him load it into the trunk of his car and...

    Wish/Fantasy

An Electra Dyne that runs off 2 6V6's or 2 EL84's would be so great! My main problem with my 1x12 combo is the weight. The amp is just too **** heavy. I love the tones, and I continue to lug the beast around to rehearsals and gigs both. If there were another option though, I'd take it!

    Triple Crown vs Electra Dyne

The Electra Dyne has been my go-to, favorite amp for several years now. I've got the 27"1x12 wide body combo. I love it, but it's not perfect. I love the tone, but it's super heavy and the issues of shared eq, etc etc. It looks like one of the TC-50 head and 1x12 cab would cure all my Electra...

    Electra Dyne Ghetto Solo Boost

That's a really good idea! So now can you control the amount of boost by turning the reverb knob? I have a foot switch that I've used to turn the reverb on/off by plugging it in to that hidden 1/4" jack on the underside of the chassis.

    Clean vol trim

If you have the Volume(gain) set low then the clean channel won't be loud enough, even with the clean trim set all the way up. Balance the volume across all three modes by turning the Volume control up in the 1:00 - 1:00 range, depending on guitars, pickups, overdrive or boost pedals, etc...

    New ElectraDyne released by Mesa

Mine is the widebody, 27" combo with the stock Mesa C90 speaker. I also have a Recto 2x12 cab with English made Marshall V30's and it has a bit more forward upper mids. I honestly prefer the stock C90.

    New ElectraDyne released by Mesa

JJ, when I first got my Electra Dyne I too struggled with the amp having too much bass. However I have since found settings that work. If your middle control is set below 12:00 then a lot of the upper mids get cut, and allowing more bass to pass through. Also, setting the treble control above...

    Simul-Class tone

What do you think the Simul-Class tone is? My Electra Dyne I always felt sounded better in 45 watt mode. What would an Electra Dyne or Mark V sound like with a non-Simul-Class power section? What does it actually do for the tone/feel?

    Electra Dyne Discussion

Something else to try: Vintage Hi + TS-9 Tubescreamer = Firebreathing, super aggressive awesomeness!

Operation of the Clean Trim and Gain

To get my channel volumes to even out, I set the clean level at max, gain trim at normal, and volume control on front panel to around 2:00-3:00, depending on which guitar I'm using.

    Electra Dyne Discussion

djw, I was happier with 6L6's. I know several people on this board prefer the EL34's, but for me it's 6L6's all the way. It might be worth a try. It softens the midrange just a tad and gives Vintage Lo and Hi this really awesome "sting" to the high end. Also, although I've never been much of a...

    Joining the ED Club

I like the tan 27" head and 1x12 cab setup best. If I could trade my 1x12 combo I would. I like how it looks, it's just so heavy. I love the tones though!

    Mesa signature amp

Oh, so there's a standard version of the JP-2C? My bad, I guess I read it wrong
