The pull function on a Mark III's Bass knob...

I pull my bass knob and also pull the master volume to engage the DEEP function. I use a combo so that bass response is not as comparable to a sealed cab...

Logic 8 Guitar Amp Pro (useable?)

I have Logic 9, the amp sims are so-so. If you listen to it within the full context of the mix, it'll do...or it might depend on the listener if he/she is a musician and is critical of guitar tones. I've used it in several online collaborations, it does the job....but....still so-so. Then I...

    Alternatives to Triaxis/2:90 rig?

Check out the Radial JDX, it's a direct box that goes in between the speaker out of your power amp and your speaker/cab. Been using it in live gigs and recording, sounds really good.

A New American Vintage HotRod stat

I had a 57 reissue, couldn't get past the small fingerboard radius. Had to set the action high for string bends, the guitar frets out fairly easy...BUT...the tone was really nice! Vintage tone all the way, 60 HZ hum included  !

    Mark IV vs Mark V

nice post. taking the time out to fully explain what your needs and wants are is pretty commendable. I can't argue with your points though. I have a Mark V and a Mark III. Lately, i have come to love my Mark III because of it's own "sonic personality." The V does indeed put out what folks would...

Anyone use a power conditioner with their Mark amp?

I use a voltage regulator (line conditioner) in all my gear. Is it worth it? Well, for my peace of mind, yes. The protection for over voltage or under voltage of a voltage regulator is well worth it so that I could concentrate on playing rather than worrying about electrical issues. I still get...

    Hum/Ground Loop?

I have the small Ebtech hum eliminator, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, guess it depends on where the ground loop is. It worked for our keyboard player in some venues that we play. Tried it with my amps, didn't work. Just have to watch out for the current rating though. What I have...

    Mark-O-Recto update

Did you check the weight load limit on that rack case????

    Slight Mark V face lift.

I would like to see some chrome knobs on that V, imagine if they had anodized aluminum colored knobs, might be an option....

    Footswitch activation delay

I experienced it, heard through the forums that this is due to the switching relays...hearsay though...the delay is enough for me to notice and adjust switching between channels during gigs.

what is it about mesa amps?

Nice post! I think Mesa has achieved a well balanced product. This includes the build quality, design, tone, looks, and one thing that really sets them apart is the stellar customer service that most of us has experienced. Granted, amplifier choice is all about preference to one's ears, consider...

    alesis microverb 4

Get it then, if you are paying next to nothing, only drawback is, you'll need a rack to lug around.

    alesis microverb 4

These are very good reverbs! does 24 bit versus 18 bit a deal breaker for you? doubt that you'll hear a difference, especially when you play in a band context. I had some experience with this, its clean and lush reverb, its digital, so bear that in mind, if the price is next to nothing, you...

My first day with the Mark V and I'm really underwhelmed
