In our band, I've tried several settings. I'm now using the Lo at the -8 and the Hi at -4 (or none). Attenuated settings definitely affect the tone to my ear- take off some of the high end (and make it a bit more "squishy") which helps with the Lo channel especially. YMMV.

HI there, I use a TC Spark Boost in the loop- works perfectly> I use it in our band with another guitar and keyboards with great success. I also used a MXR Micro amp prior to that which also worked well, although not as adjustable. Any clean boost in loop would likely work.
