I played an out door all day event yesterday. The guitar player in the band before me was using what looked like a Marshall. My eyes aren't too good but the cabinet was definitely a 4X12 Marshall cab. His tone was phenomenal and its exactly what I've been looking for.
When they were done I was...
The only guitar I can really think of parting with is a 1962 Telecaster that I paid $600 (Canadian) for in 1984. It was mint. But really I'm only sad that I didn't hang on to it for about 15 more years. When the prices went insane I would have most likely had no problem dumping it and replacing...
I don't see why there would be a difference in clean headroom. Before I bought my Fillmore combo I did try the head and combo side by side and didn't notice one over the other having more clean headroom. Although this was in the music store so couldn't really take them to the limits. I ended up...
I have no issues with the look of the chicken knobs on my Fillmore 50 however I do like the look of those knobs better. I do get annoyed a little at the chicken knobs getting moved around so easy with the cover.
I think I may order these.
So if I am to assume that one of my 6L6 power tubes is put in to standby for the half power switch then my question is, am I wearing out one of the tubes more than the other? I've been running on half power alot and I'm thinking that 80% of my use is going to be on half power.
I'm just wondering how this half power switch works? I thought maybe it turns off one of the 6L6 tubes. When I look in the back of the amp they are both lit up.
I can't see how it would affect anything to do with the tone or speaker. Its simply just to switch channels. I did end up buying a guitar cable and am currently using it on the mesa channel switching pedal. Seems like its fine.
I've had my fillmore for a little over a month now. For a bit there I was a little concerned that it didn't have quite enough clean headroom or volume. The band I play with we do pretty much all big events, mostly outdoor. I find my self getting a little buried on stage. I'm always mic'd so...
I have a fillmore 50 combo. I have a question concerning the cable that goes from the channel switching pedal that comes with the amp. Is that just a regular guitar cable? It looks like it to me but I want to be sure before I buy a second one. I want to have an extra one that I can leave in my...
I probably can't help you much in whether you should go for the Lonestar special. For me, I love my Fillmore 50 combo and it gives me just about everything I need in an amp. I owned a Lonestar special back when they were first released. I remember at the time loving the tones I could get but for...
I'm not sure I'd want more headroom than what my fillmore 50 gives me. It doesn't have near the clean headroom as other 40\50 watt amps I've owned but its so easy to get this amp in the sweetspot without attenuators. I never feel like I'm lacking in needed headroom. I don't require "twin" like...
