Thinking about coming back to a Mark V

I had one for a few months about a year back and lately I've been thinkng about coming back to the Mark V. What has me seriously considering the MKV again is the 10/45/90 watt selection on each channel that can be adjusted for appropriate sized clubs/venues. My primary amp for the past few years...

    Head or Combo?

I have noticed that a couple of people have said "don't sell the Soldano, you'll regret it". I'm sure I will probably regret selling the Soldano however I'm not able to really push it to get the best out of it or hit it's sweet spot. Unfortunately, most of the bars or places to play in my area...

    16 ohm cabinets

Who here is using 16 ohm cabs as opposed to 8 or 4 ohms cab and what's your experience? Since there is not a dedicated 16 ohm output jack on the MKV I would have to run a mismatch but I am wondering if the tone would suffer too much to want to do this.

    Head or Combo?

I am thinking about selling my Soldano SLO and purchasing the Mark V but cannot decide between the combo or head. I like the combo because of the compact portability. On the other side of the coin a head is a bit more flexable because I can mix and match different cabs but the downside of this...

Downsizing from a 412 halfstack to a combo

I am currently using a 412 Mesa Dual Rectifier Halfstack for gigging and have seriously been contemplating downsizing to 112 or 212 combo. As much as I love the sound of a 412 it's just too much amp for the venues I play in plus all amps are miked. I was wondering how many others have downsized...

Plate current rating to look for when buying EL34 tubes

That was very good info Old BF Shred! I went ahead and placed the EL34's into the amp and have had them in for about 5 days now and have not noticed anything out of the ordinary. I bought the tubes with the intent to use them in my Marshall DSL100 when I had it repaired a month back. I contacted...

LEDs on the footswitch when powering on?

I bought a used DR about 4 months back and this was one of the first things I noticed along with the slight buzz that the head makes when the footswitch is plugged in and first taken off standby. After sarching through this forum and the great replies I received I've concluded that what you are...

3-Channel DR current draw range? Need Advice/Opinions Please

Does anybody know what the current draw range would be for this amp? I have found that the current draw range for the Mark series falls in the 17-25 range based on the plate current measurement system. I have a new quad set of SED =C= EL34's that have 38 written on the box and was wondering if...
