So "authorized boogie" says they are the same. I think he says....."crunch channel was pulled directly from the Mark V"
But....it seems they are not after reading through the replys.
Maybe he can chime in and explain...
How do these two compare?
I really like the clips I hear of the crunch mode on channel 1 of the 25 but I would also need a "funk"
clean on channel 1. Not possible to footswitch on the lil' V 25.
So can the Mark V channel 2 crunch get in the same realm as his lil sister's crunch mode?
Thanks for all the responses.
The 4x12 is near mint and he wants $450 for it.
Have you tried your Mini Recto thru your metal grill 2x12's
I may use a Matrix GM50 with my AxeFx to drive the 4x12. EV's are pretty flat voiced and may work well with the Axe when I'm not using FRFR.
I have a chance to grab a 4x12 metal grill cab, open top and closed bottom.
Loaded with 4 original EV's
Tone wise....are these warm or similar to current 4x12's from Mesa with V-30's?
Also, they are wired for stereo....are they split horizontally or vertically for the stereo inputs?
I have...
Congrats on your Mini!
Fun amp for sure! I gigged mine the past
2 weeks and I found that in channel 2 on vintage
mode I never turned the gain past 10 o'clock. With
that level of gain and everything else set in the.
range of 11-1 o'clock it slayed!
Now we don't play real heavy...
Has anyone owned both? I am looking for a vert. 2x12 for my mini-recto. I like the thought of the EV in the ported bottom half of the older 2x12's. Whats the tone difference than the newer V30 loaded vertical cabs?
Tighter bottom end? Not much difference?
Any thought or insightful...
I'd appreciate any replies on this:
I am currently trying to decide between a vertical or horizontal Recto cab. But.....if the
1x12 mini cabs are that good I would be happy to have that option as well.
I'd be intersted in seeing how well it can clean up with just the guitar volume. I like to mainly use one channel and adjust the gain with the volume of the guitar.
Well my ED is gone.....silly mistake because after spending some time
with a MKV.......I ended up not buying one.
I had a nice 1x12 ED combo.....now I think I am ordering a
medium head in Tan.
Moral......."you don't know whatcha got till it's gone....."
ED head should sound great with my...
Just my opinion..I would give it a bit more than 2 days. There are a lot of different tones to be found in this
lil' Booger(I like that better than lil' Boogie)
I find the bass to be very strong and tight....it seems as though I am dialing in less bass than I do on my other amps. I am...
