    Mark IIb serial numbers

Aha, a 9C pre-1000! I was wondering if that was the cutoff

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

I was just reading that thread the other day. I'm dying to hear it! Serious respect, brother!

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

All evidence (history of reissues) seems to confirm they sound different. Unless you have numerous examples I'm missing.

Should Mesa Boogie reissue the Mark IIC+ ?

If it was so lucrative to make a Mark IIc+ reissue, then someone would be doing it already. Spoiler: it's not lucrative. We have our little IIC+ club here, but we don't have nearly the numbers or sway that many seem to think. More likely is that some niche amp maker or individual will decide to...

Samples/clips of IIc (non-"plus")? Owner feedback?

I'm super intrigued by what a IIc non-plus sounds like. I have a late IIb DRGX (RP9C board) and a IIC+ DRX. I love both. If the IIc takes what I love about both and combines them, I may have a task ahead of myself..

Anyone replace their IIc+ with a Mark V?

And if so, how long ago did you, and are you satisfied? My IIc+ is a DRX (non-graphic), and I actually find myself playing mostly without "pull deep" engaged. My aim in the most singing, vocal, harmonically-rich lead tone. I'm not in it for the tight rhythm crunch (I actually have a late IIb...

    Mark IIb serial numbers

Hello, I'm wondering if there is info about exactly what serial numbers encompass these preamp boards: RP9A / SP9A RP9C / SP9C ...and any others, for the sake of having it all in one place. I know my serial #1015X has the RP9C I had a #8936 that had the SP9A

Help identifying Mark Series [CUSTOM RESTORATION]

Wow, this hurts to look at! I'm not totally sure, but what you mentioned about the return jack leading to the final preamp tube grid might actually be present in Mike B's "loop mod" ("IIb+"). Good luck with this project! The original transformers are magic, so there are undoubtedly some killer...

    What's your fave speaker?

My absolute favorite speaker is also the MS-12. I use it with all my Mesa Mark's and with my Fuchs ODS. I literally almost sold my IIb when I was playing it through an EVM 12L. I know some love that speaker, but paired with my IIb, it seemed to either add or bring out this gross/nasty...

    EH 6ca7's in Mark II's?

Wondering if anyone has tried them & liked them in Simul Mark II's. Also wondering if they should stay in the bias range for what Mike B recommends for EL34's in the class A sockets (25-35 mA, I believe), and where to buy/how to ask for tubes that will get me in that range.

will NOS Philips 6L6GWB's hold up in a Mark II?

Right- although I bought them after several people recommended them for my Fuchs Overdrive Supreme... which has similar plate voltages.

will NOS Philips 6L6GWB's hold up in a Mark II?

Looking to just put them in the class a/b sockets, not in the class a (simul-class) sockets. :?:

    IIc+ (RP10/SP10) vs. IIb (RP9C/SP9C)

It's fascinating. IME, the only consistency (and that's only based on 2 examples: a IIb DRGX and a IIC+ DRX) I've found is that the export simul's seem to have tons of gain. I'm counting my lucky stars, because my IIb DRGX (with the RP-9C) actually has as much or more liquidy-ness than both of...

Should I convert my HR IIc+ to DR?

I'd say it turned fantastically: 1. I liked it better after the simul-class conversion. I just happened to still like my DRX better, and I realized I don't need 2 Mark IIC+'s. That's why I sold it. 2. the sale covered all of the service + mod'ing costs.

    IIc+ (RP10/SP10) vs. IIb (RP9C/SP9C)

I'm curious to get more information on these two preamp circuits: how they are similar, and where they differ. I'm moving this from another thread I started: I re-aquired the Mark IIb DRGX that I sold last summer. It has the RP9C preamp board. n.b. - I stopped playing guitar for 17-ish years...
