    Mark III Footswitch Question.

The answer is NO. If you are in Lead mode the footswitch will not Toggle between R1 and R2.

    Mark III Footswitch Question.

One switch is lead/R and the other is R1/R2. If in lead mode on the front switch - does the other still toggle between R1/R2? Thanks.

    Combo to head conversion

The answer is different based on the specific amp model. On the ones where the answer is YES (tank must be plugged in), not doing so can harm a transformer. I'd check direct with Mesa to be 100% sure.

Mark III - Volume Pot Mod - R2, yeap, yet again...

I also did this on a Red III Short Head. I wanted to keep both the reverb and presence active so I put the 250K audio pot where the DI out Volume was. Really don't understand anyone (yet alone Mike B.) saying it couldn't be done.

    NAD 5:50+

Congrats! Rocked a 5:25 for years before giving it to my son-in-law. Now he rocks it on stage and loves the little thing!

    Pre-Gibson JP-2C 'tallica tones...

@MaceFremonti Excellent on so many levels! Haven't had my PREGIB2C in a number of weeks (out for minor repair) and this just makes me want it home even more.

NAD: 1987 red strip Mark III head

Nice! I'm going to use the stock DI output level for R2 since I'm not using it. Was also thinking of removing the heatsink on the back panel (since it's not really doing anything) and add a knob there but that's too far away from stock. People always talk about the IIC and IV and very little...

NAD: 1987 red strip Mark III head

To be honest a lot of it is the difference in pictures. NEVER use a flash to photo a 34 year old amp! The tolex near the input jack just took slightly wetting the glue side and then using an iron on low to re-glue it in place - use a damp washcloth between the tolex and iron so it...

    Mark III R2 gain mod

I'd also like to have a gain control on R2 along with the volume mod. @HelpingFriendly Something to try that may help (if you haven't already): When in R2 pull the shift on the bass control. The added fullness in the low mids seems to smooth out the top end, which gives the allusion of...

Mark III with digital pedals in effects loop

I have a red stripe also and it doesn't like my Strymon stuff in the loop. The overall effect and tone just seems off. An MXR carbon works great though.
