A visual check of the tubes won't tell you much about their condition, unless they're physically broken or lost vacuum. I'd start by cleaning the FX loop jacks with electrical cleaner. After that, I'd suspect a tube. There's a diagnostics section in the manual that my be helpful. The...

These amps run pretty hot and run the tubes hard. I suspect that a resistor in a heat intensive area may be over cooked. I'd take the amp to a tech.

I haven't had an amp suddenly cut out completely due to preamp or power tubes, but it does happen and that'd be the first thing I'd check. How old are the tubes? Are there any Fillmores old enough to not still be under warranty? Good luck and please keep us up to date on how it goes.

You haven't unplugged and plugged the reverb cables back in, have you? Swapping the cables can increase the gain pretty dramatically.

It's just a regular guitar cable. I use a short cheap one at home with my 25 with no degradation of sound or added noise.

The reverb is tube driven. Is the correct rube installed?
