As far as I've learned, screamingdaisy is correct. It is not a "fault" with your amp itself, but a problem with using one tube for the FX loop and another function.
I called Mesa once and complained about it. Told them it must still be a parallel loop. Whoever I talked to insisted it was a...
The serial # isn't that hard to find. You shouldn't even need to take it apart. You've gotta assume
someone removed it and there's only one reason for that. Did you buy it new or used from GC? Unless it
was new it could very well be stolen.
If you get a chance, take a picture of the underside...
Hey guys quick question. I'm trying to find out the year of my DC-5, serial is 02541. It doesn't have LED's
and has metal toggles. I'm thinking 95ish but I'd wonder if anyone has a better idea.
Also, does anyone know what these sold for new? Thanks for the help.
Mesa/Boogie 2:50 All-tube poweramp
Excellent condition, newly retubed not to long ago, maybe 20 hours of
play on them. Always kept in a Road Ready case and treated with care. 50 Watts a-side with 3 12AX7's and 4 Boogie 6L6's. There is a bias switch if you like EL34's better. Anyone who's heard...
I remember reading somewhere that when Smith went to get copyrights for the
company, he chose "MESA" because it sounded industrial and professional or something
to that degree.
Any by the way..It's May-Suh...
Well. I tried recording with the out on my DC-5, Mark IV's less featured but equally devious half-brother. I wasn't impressed. At least not as much as blending a few e609's on different cone positions of a 12 inch speaker.
It's all about air. Using air's natural compression and finding that...
I modified the speaker setup in my Recto cab. Not because it was boomy, I just didn't like V30's very much.
I had a Behringer cab(laugh it up, but its a great cab), which had 100 watt Jensen Chicago's in it. I would switch between the two and really liked the Behringer much, much better. I was...
Thats the way Mesa's cabinets are built too. At least my DC5 is built like that. You have to go through the back, usually removing the power tubes, to gain access to the pre's.
Well, thats your opinion. There is truth to shying away from putting cheap units into a serial loop, but with the modern electronics we have available to us there are plenty of uses for a serial loop where it will perform far better than a parallel loop.
The rule of thumb should really be, use...
