Does anyone else's Mark V do this?

That's quite a theory lol. Do you think that could be the cause of additional gain occurring even when the channel theoretically shouldn't be affected, since it only occurs when the preset EQ is not activated?

Does anyone else's Mark V do this?

I'm not talking about the sound when you actually flip the switch, I'm talking about a light crackling/distortion on an otherwise clean channel. Only when its switched to preset with the depth maxed, but not with the eq actually activated, if that makes sense. It's not a big concern, but it is...

Does anyone else's Mark V do this?

Interesting. I didn't have mine terribly loud either but I had it on these settings: Channel 1 - Gain: 10 o'clock Master: 12 Presence: 12:30 Treble: 1:30 Mid: 9 Bass: 11 Fat EQ footswitch Any watt Bold V30 Orange cab

Does anyone else's Mark V do this?

I recently noticed this weird "issue" that happens with both of Mark V amps, under the same circumstances. It's on channel 1, using a really clean "fat" John Petrucci clean setting. Have the EQ set to footswitch, with the preset/slider knob set to preset, and the preset depth maxed out. Try...

Mark V ribbon cords (please help)

I have 2 mark V 90 watt amp. A head and a combo. Just went to change tubes on the head and clean it and when removing the chasis it slipped and pulled on and damaged 2 of the ribbon cords. I was confused as to which way the ribbon cords fit back in the amp . So I opened up my combo to...

Why are my graphic EQ sliders crooked? And is it something I should be concerned with?

So I have a fairly new mark v combo. And I've noticed that each slider on the graphic EQ is sort of... crooked, I guess would be the best word? The whole system functions smoothly and correctly. But yea each knob is just a little slanted for some reason. I was wondering if this is somewhat...

    Is this safe to do?

Wow. Thank you for this very detailed response. It sounds like what I thought, and what other people have said, which is that it's fine to do. Just to be safe I'll switch to standby if I ever want to switch from full to variac really quickly (which honestly is very rare). Sounds like worst case...

    Is this safe to do?

I've had my Mark V for months now and I love it. I am however confused by a design feature. And that would be the power/variac switch. It's made to seem like you could switch between the two without turning off the amp. But the "off" is in the middle. I've been told this is ok to do. However...

Just bought a Mark V 90 watt combo. Have some questions not answered in the manual.

I'm not new to tube amps, but given how nice this amp is, and how much there is to do with this amp I wanted to make sure I don't unknowingly damage something. Most of my questions were answered by the (fantastic) manual. But, I could not find answers to the following, and was hoping for your...
