I brought my amp to a G.C and plugged into a few cabs to try out. Ended up buying a used Marshall 8412 cab. Might give you a good idea for what speaker would suit the tone/sound your looking for.

I have a F50 head, with no problem on channel 2. I would go on Mesa web site to contact them. They have an excellent support team there. They always get right back to me, and answer any questions I have. Good luck, It an awesome amp.

I know this is an old post. Must not be to many F50 guys and gals out there. I haven't had my F50 long, but I would stick with Mesa Stock Tubes, Why mess with perfection. :D
