I had the same problem with my LSS..I changed to JJ tubes, and still had that farting sound...I came to this conclusion...The LSS is a piece of junk...I sold it and got 2 amps for what I had in it...

Sorry to rain on everyones parade, but Ive had too much trouble with my LSS..Ive also had a heck of a time with the store, Mesa rep, and tech support...Today I went out and bought an Epiphone DSP 100 head and 4x12 cabinet...it playes better than my LSS did, and has better headroom...Its a solid...

Ive encountered the same problem with the LSS..The clean doesnt stay clean at higher volumes...Ive been playing the LSS at lower volumes and using the slave out to a fender tonemaster with a 4x12 cab,,,sounds great, but thats a lotta gear to haul around

My good friend from way back..Kal David plays the blues, and loves his Maverick..I thought the LSS would be good, but it has NO headroom, and starts to breakup too soon for my tastes..To solve that problem, I play it at lower volumes and line it out thru a fender Tonemaster...The sound is great...
