    Footswitch jack problem...

Just make sure it's in all the way. When you pull it out, the amp will default to channel one. The "static" is just the relays clicking when they're "engaged" and "disengaged" because there isn't a solid connection between the amp and the footswitch.

Problem with my Mark V? (Volume cut out in Mark IV Pentode)

Nobody? Just an update though, I won't be pushing my amp that hard again any time soon, except to see of this still happens.

Problem with my Mark V? (Volume cut out in Mark IV Pentode)

So today I decided to put my Mark V combo through its paces (using my 4x12 Recto cab only). I noticed something rather odd though in the Mark IV mode on my amp, and this issue only occurred when in the pentode mode. With the loop bypassed, I cranked the master to about 1:30-2:00, and whenever I...

    Mark IV vs Mark V

The best way to tell which you want is to have both side-by-side and actually play them. There are way too many variables involved in studio recordings that make them untrustworthy in determining the raw tonality of an amp. If you're not going to take advantage of the wealth of other features...

    Help me ponder this trade....

The Roadster is basically a Road King without the Progressive Linkage, so I don't think you'll lose anything tonewise, but you certainly have a lot to gain. Whether or not the trade is monetarily feasible is up to you.

Triaxis or 2002 trple rec in almost new condition?

Monetarily speaking, based on the prices that I've seen those two units going for in my area, and the value that you're placing on your Recto, it isn't a good trade. The TriAxis with some cash on top of it would be good for you IMHO though, if you don't mind the learning curve with the...

    Is this fixable?

Well, think about it this way. Even if it costs you say... $500 to fix, you still got a Dual Recto for $600. **** good deal if you ask me :) .

    Stiletto Trident Stage 1 Woes...

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll tell him to get on it ASAP.

    Stiletto Trident Stage 1 Woes...

A buddy of mine recently picked up a Stiletto Trident Stage 1 for $700... But here's the catch. There's a problem with it intermittently cutting out (it sounds like when you have a faulty cable). He spoke to his electrical engineer buddy and he said he'd take a look at it with the schematic, but...

    Speaker Recommendations

I've got V30's and G12T-75's x-patterned in my 4x12 cab and it's a great combination. IMO, each speaker makes up for what the other lacks.

    Mark V New Owner (Maybe)

That was probably because the cab had a closed back. Being open back, the single speaker in the Mark V shouldn't have that issue. I'm just guessing though as I have the head version not the combo. I have had 1x12 closed back cabs though and that was my experience.

Looking for a new guitar (PRS, Gibson, etc)

Well, if you buy a used Custom Shop LP, do it locally so at least you can try your guitar before buying it, ya know? Other suggestions here are good too, but with a carvin ,unless you buy used, you won't really be able to try before buying. You can definitley find used les Paul customs and r8's...

Looking for a new guitar (PRS, Gibson, etc)

You've gotta try out all of the guitars in your prospects and see which one speaks to you the most. For that kind of money... You could get a nice used custom shop LP (which have much better build quality than USA Gibsons. PRS are making great guitars these days, I just wish I was a fan of their...

My new 1983 Les Paul Custom

It's just those dam corksniffers trying to **** on everyones parade route. Norlin era gibsons are steadily climbing in value though, especially non weight relieved and non modified ones. I cant wait to see what my LP will be worth in 15 years.

My new 1983 Les Paul Custom

Cmon man, a guitar doesn't have to be 70 years old to be considered vintage. Besides, Norlins will be worth soooo much in the coming years. Thanks a lot man! Haha, yea, that would be sweet if you got an '83. Mine was made on the 206th day of '83, check if that's your b-day :P. The Kahler is...
