    SQUEELING AND FEEDBACK!

If the squealing is with no input cable in the input jack, the problem is in the amp and a pedal cannot help.

    SQUEELING AND FEEDBACK!

The self feedback or squealing with no input is common in early Boogies. This I confirmed with Mike B. yesterday. Normally the onset of this is at high ie. 5-9, settings. This can change drastically with different 12AX7's. Have high quality spares and experiment. The stereo footswitch jacks...

Mkiic+ problem: STILL can't get a clean tone

Have an experienced tech show you how different bias levels affect the tone of your amp, have it set from cold to hot as you play through it and observe the tone changes, they are very noticable. Try this and you will be suprised at what your ears tell you. Boogie's need their bias set just as...

    Mark IIb all-in-one Footswitch

From the IIB owners manual: Also located beneath the chassis is a stereo socket for the optional Dual Footswitch. This will be wired to activate, when applicable, the Graphic EQ and Reverb. When an amplifier is built with only Reverb or Graphic, a mono 1/4” guitar jack is mounted for use with...

Mkiic+ problem: STILL can't get a clean tone

Geobull, Under NO circumstance try to set bias by a voltage reading of bias voltage. Bias can ONLY be set by measureing, either directly or indirectly, the plate current. Output tubes have a designated plate power dissipation, The plate dle current in milliamperes times the plate voltage...

Mkiic+ problem: STILL can't get a clean tone

Since you replaced the outputs, you must check and probably adjust the bias. If your bias is such that the output tube idle current is less than it should be, the amp will break up earlier and have less power out. Regards, beaurawls

Is there a chart for different levels of Mark vs number of posts? Regards, beaurawls 8)

    8417's instead of 6l6

Has anyone else tried this? The bias divider must be altered to provide 55 ma in each tube. Output increases to a conservative 125 watts rms out into 8 ohms. The amp becomes much more sensitive and sweeter lead sustain. Also opening up the power supply with 40mfd instead of 220mfd makes it...

I have found out that replacing the output tubes with 8417's and rebiasing gives a much less harsh sound and 125 watts rms output. Regards, beaurawls 8)
