Congratulations! The only popping you'll hear is when you switch from a 10W channel to something else. This is normal and is even pointed out in the manual. If you don't want to hear it, crank the watts! :) ... or, hit mute before you switch channels. Enjoy your Mark V! \m/

I'm pretty sure you can use that power cable as the amp is not drawing that much current. Look on the back and see what the fuse rating is, I'm guessing it's like my Mark V which is 2A (IIRC), if so, any power cable should work. I think the gauge differences only matter after 5 or so amps. As...

I know safety is of concern, but if the screw actually caused a short circuit, the slow-blow fuse would kick in and shunt the power. I'm not saying that it wouldn't damage the amp, or be dangerous, only that the fuse is designed in for these reasons.

The speaker is connected via the same regular -- all be it short -- speaker cable that you could just plug into another amp if it were very close or you had some sort of extension cable.

I bought my Mark V because of Mark Morton/Willie Adler of Lamb Of God.. they also use rectos and I have a mini, so would that count? :mrgreen:

Channel 2 & 3 have loads of gain but if that's not enough for you why not put a tube screamer in front of the amp?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with any of those products. However, why not just use the master volume? I have a Mark V and I play late night all the time at pretty low volume. You could also get AmpliTube http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube/ for late night jamming.

Definitely do not plug your headphones into the speaker output on your Mark V as you will fry your amp. You need a proper speaker load on the amp. You should be able to find an attenuator with head phone output that will suit your needs.

I got it on clearance at Long & McQuade and was surprised by the good price considering I never find a good deal there. ;-) As for the bass/mid controls, I have to admit I just use the eq on my boogie for that.. I'm probably missing out on something but I do find this to be a nice pedal. I have...

I think it's a really good pedal. I got mine used for $50 (Canadian, no less) and think it sounds great. For $99, it's still a bargain. If you like the sound, go for it.
