    Clean Channel...removing bright cap?

Thanks for the update. If I ever need a change on Ch 1 , I ll come back to this thread 8) . I have only done a 12AT7 tube swap and I personally like it better on V6 vs being on V4. Didn't have the icepick syndrome when I bought the amp but that's just my perception. However, Whatever sounds...

Mesa Amp Etiquette - Good habits ?

Hello guys, Wanted to get some opinions on proper etiquette for Mesa amps from the guys in the Forum - specially with the frequency with which they need to be played/powered up to keep the capacitors/screens/etc in shape. Please keep in mind that I am not educated in any way in matters of...

Problems with your Mark V...it's you.

Well , the replacement of the V6 tube with a 12AT7 did it for me. However, I didnt have the Ice Pick Syndrome when I got the amp. But, it def feels 'looser' and the gain definition has more aura to it, so to speak.

FX Loop light on my Mark V ON all the time

Hi guys, I have a minor issue with my Mark V 90. The FX loop light on the right side of the amp seems to be ON all the time, even when the FX loop is not engaged . Has anyone faced this kind of issue before ? When I DO engage the FX Loop , the light just gets a bit brighter. I don't have a...

Mark V with Revv g3/4 pedal

Yeah, I would put it on Ch 1. Just looking for a different flavour of distortion. On the other hand, I am really happy with my Mark V after the V6 12AT7 change. Ch 3 feels a lot more compressed and love the tones when I am playing on my own. Playing with a band, it gets lost in the mix quite...

Changing V1 preamp tube is risky

I have not removed the chasis ever in my 5+ yrs of owning it.. here is how you do it.. for amp head only. Step 1 : Turn the amp upside down and let it sit such that the tube sockets point up. Step 2 : Remove all power tubes n rectifier tube Step 3 : Reach in with hands and slowly pull out V1...

    Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

I usually remove all the power tubes n the rectifier tube and reach in with a flashlight. Not the most convenient but gets the job done. Plus, I have smallish hands, ymmv

Mark V with Revv g3/4 pedal

The G3 is suppose to be a flavour of the 5150 series, while G4 is similar to a Recto.. demos of both pedals sound nice.. but havent seen anyone try it with a Mark V.. Demos on youtube sound enticing but every time I power up my amp, The red channel goes - “Nah, I got you covered”

Mark V with Revv g3/4 pedal

Has anyone tried either of the Revv G3 or G4 pedal with the Mark V ?

    Mark V Stressing Me Out

Replace the powertubes and you should be fine. Mesa supplies matching power tubes. If you can replace both pairs, even better.
