I'll chime in my .02 as well, it's a great amp, I have the 27" combo. But man is it loud...and yes it's bassy but this can be EQ'd down. Did I mention it's loud?

As a cheat I just put a Boss '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb inline, givers me reverb and some boost. I love this amp.

Dunno why this forum gets so little traffic, but the TA15 is a great amp, love mine just don't use it enough.

The grille is set in a kind of adhesive rubbery gasket that eliminates vibration. You don't need to remove it anyway, remove the 4 screws that hold the top straps and slide the whole thing out

It's a beast of an amp, but I just grabbed an Ernie Ball MVP pedal to work as a "sort of" attenuator, will see how that goes. It does sound great at low volumes (clean) but you really do need to push it to get the tones it's known for. I like the speaker. The amp is VERY bassy and a bit dark...

Howdy all I just went thru a Mesa factory repair for a bad cap on my Express 525, now my TA15 is making light background percolating noises (random sizzle, scratching etc). Not very dramatic but certainly not what I'd call quiet background hum. Now what? Failing preamp tube somewhere? Cheers

Mesa called to tell me they replaced a capacitor that was causing my probs, so I guess that's a good thing. Now I just have $300 worth of unnecessary replacement tubes sitting around (2 full sets). I guess that means I should play more...there's a concept!!! Amp gets back next week, curious to...

+1 on the Tone Tubby, I put a 4040 in my 525 1x10, it's a totally different amp (in a good way). Can't wait for the 40 hours or so of breakin period to elapse!

RMA= Return Merchandise Authorization...just a requirement to send the amp back for a repair. They are going to do a complete check, but they think there is something definitely wrong. Interesting about your V25...I've just got the bug for one myself :) Good to know they're quiet. I just bought...
