I always say that when I have amps that I like, I make them all sound the same. While I think that if you spend most of your time in channel 3 like I do you have to like the "flavor" of the Mark sound, if that works for you, you can get any tone you want out of this amp.

I used to frequently get compliments on my tone when I owned my Ace. I had it for 7 years until I got a 5150 3, and a Mark V. I like those amps better, but I don't get the same compliments on my tone like I did with the Ace.

I think that it depends what you are looking to get out of it. I used a Boss Super Overdrive for years with my Ace combo and it just matched great. I never liked Tube Screamers with that amp.
