I prefer V30s and I have an array of cabs . 2X12 recto horizontal, 4x12 Stiletto slant and a 1x12 closed back front ported cab on order (with a V30). The 2X12 is a huge sounding cab and the 4X12 is an amazing cab that you can feel as well as hear !

Orange 212 w/ v30's = huge, thick, dark
Recto 212 w/ v30's = medium, scooped, bright
Stiletto 212 w/ v30's = smaller sounding version of the orange

Orange wins tonally, Stiletto wins for ease of lugging - tone ratio!

recto horizontal 2x12 V30's

AB costum audio 2x12 WGS veteran 30

AB costum audio 4x12 WGS veteran 30

Express 23 1x12/C90
3/4 back 2x12/C90s
Recto horizontal 2x12/V30s

I prefer the open-back cabs for the most part, but the recto does the chugga-chugga thang well.

Im usein 2 peavey 6505 cabs that i ripped the speakers out and relpaced them with emeince swamp thangs and texas heats which sounds very crunchy i love it. My other guitarist has a custom made cab with emeince v30 rip offs which i think sound a thousand times better than the v30s. Ive also gone through marshall cab when i tested her which wasnt my flavor of choice but each to their own. I really wanna pick up either a bogner or vht fattbottom and see how the mark v handles with it.

Set the combo on top of a Avatar 2X12 traditional cab loaded with Hellatone 60's (V30's)

For rehearsals I use a pair of Lopo 2x12 with vintage 30s

For gigs I use a pair of Bogner 1x12 with vintage 30s

I prefer the Bogners, they sound bigger and have more presence.

I am using a Mojo (67 marshall clone) straight 4x12 with heritage celestion g12m (20w) and g12h 30's in an X. 16 ohm. I agree that it may come across a bit compressed. i have two Mesa 2x12 recto cabs and they seem more " in your face".

1 - 1960a Slant with G12-65s. Tames highs & lots of thump
2 - Avatar Open 2x12 with Tone Tubby Alnico Papercones. Very Sweet and warm
3 - '65 Bassman Cab with 1-V30 and 1-G12-H30.

I want to try the Tone Tubby ceramic hempcones I have kicking around. They are similar to v30 as they too are quite quick and responsive. I have them in an open back marshall style 2x12 cab.

My buddy has a recto 4x12 with v30's for his V. We both agree that my 2x12 with G12T-100's sound a lot better.

Can I buy the cab? How much? Where are you located?

Are you talking about the G12K-100?

No, G12T-100. Punchier 100watt version of the G12t-75.

I agree on the G12T-75s, they are not as good to handle punch. They do ok with REC for the sizzle, not MKV Crunch slamming a power chord. These speakers are in a JCM900 2x12 combo I use as an extension cab. THey do ok with the Marshall driving them, not much bass or deep mid there.

For MKV I use an Egnater Tourmaster 2x12 Celestion Elite 80's. More thump. I did an A/B with the REC 2x12 box. It did not have as much thump, maybe the small cabinet hurt that. Should be able to find at any Guitar Center to demo. It has a removable back panel for easy 3/4 back mode.
