Ok, so I have a Mesa Single and I'm looking to swap out the pre and power tubes to give her a tonal make over. I'm thinking about EL-34's for the powertubes to tighten things up but I'm kind of scared that I'll lose that 6L6 deep low
I play death metal, melo death, and metalcore so I kind of need a nice deep thunder and not like crunch if that makes since. I would like to tighten up the sound a little, but I don't want to lose a lot of that Mesa low end....
So confused!!!!!!!! Any suggestions? Would EL-34's be the way to go? Any suggestions on tube brands, Ruby, Sovtek, JJ??? Any help would be great
