tubes changing color?

I have never seen this before, but my Mesa 6l6's burn Bright BLUE! The filaments are orange but it looks like the gas is blue. Does this make sense? I had Svetlana's in my TSL and Groove Tubes in my Randall MTS but they never glowed Blue. I'm not sure how old the tubes are since I bought the amp used.

Excuse me if this a stupid question, or if this is normal, but any help would be appreciated.

Mine have a faint purple tinge when I first turn it on, but a lasting color in the tubes generally means that they are not under a complete vacuum and there is some kind of contaminant "air" in there

That can be normal in certain tubes. I would go have it checked out though.

Ahh the old shroomery. Such fond memories I have. I play death metal and I was so twisted once my roomate got me to jam out some hippie music.
