Looking to see if anyone has a good fix for noise when using a tremoverb red channel? I've seen some interesting thoughts on grounding issues.

Kind of a hum, or buzz when not playing. It seems like a common Recto red channel problem. I have heard that these years of Rectos have poor grounding, and that could be the issue.

Plugged or unplugged, it's consistent. No transformers or florescents, I even had it plugged in a ac filter.

Yes, as I said, I understand that it is a common red channel Recto issue. I understand that mods to the ground have fixed the issue, and I was checking to see if anyone here has any knowledge of that.

Any change when selecting different positions with the ground switch on the back?

Any scratchiness when turning pots? Also, have you tried moving V1 to V3/4? Barring a bad or weak tube, I would suspect a bad cap.

It could be preamp tube related, a dying tube can cause a hum or static sound.

I’ve been searching the web for info on ground issues with Tremoverbs and I’m not finding anything.

I also searched this board and this is all I found:

If you remove all the preamp tubes and power up does the noise go away? If yes, replace the tubes one at a time starting with the phase inverter. The tube task chart in the amp’s manual will show you the tube layout. See when the noise comes back. Just be sure to power down before pulling or replacing tubes.

After that the only thing left is the power tubes, a failing capacitor in the power supply, or this grounding issue you mention. Might just be time for a tech visit.
