hey guys,

so this proves the triple was an early thought and in production by '92. im surprised because i had assumed it had only come in by rev g. pretty cool... :)
 
I'll chime in...I've owned more Rectos than a room full of Godsmack Tribute Bands... :lol:

I actually own that R-001382 Rev F Triple now. They do come earlier though. I previously owned a Rev F Triple that was in the R-00700's (don't remember the exact number). That was the earliest one I've ever seen. To my knowledge, that's when the Triples started...somewhere in the early 700's right around when Rev F came out, and then of course all the Rev G's. For all I know, my old 700-ish Triple could have been the first Triple ever made... :shock:

From what I've heard from a few people, one of the "Blackface" Triple Rectos you see Hetfield playing all the time at the studio was in fact a Rev F Triple.
 
very cool!! :D can i ask the obvious question how do these ones sound compared to the early duals and the rev g triples?
 
I saw a prototype type Triple before they sold any DR's. That was in 1990. It was the first DR I ever saw.
The guy from Sepultura showed it to me.
 
I used to own a RevF triple (high 2000's). It was the best recto ive ever heard. Sold it for a Mark IV. I have a rev G dual right now and its not the same. I used to have a Rev F DR too and I actually like my Rev G DR better. But the F triple was "KING of the RECTOS".

700 triple... thats cool to know. So that puts it around 94?
 
700 sounds like late 92 or early 93 according to the theboogiearchives.com

Elpelotero you may want to add this Triple info to the archive at some stage.
 
700's should be a late '92.

I'll comment more later regarding the sound, but to add some Triple info for you guys...The Rev F Triple uses the same OT as the later Rev G (and same choke as all the others), BUT...the Rev F uses the older PT. Here's the data, difference noted in italics:

Rev F Triple Recto:

OT - 562181
PT - 561136
Choke - 550381

Rev G Triple Recto:

OT - 562181
PT - 561140
Choke - 550381

Here in about 1 to 1.5 weeks, I may have a Dual Recto that could blow the doors off our perceptions of the transition from F to G. I'm keeping a lid on that one until I get to see it first hand, though, because right now I'm skeptical. We'll see in about a week or two... 8)
