I've lurked here for quite a while and finally registered
as a member.

I wanted to ask if anyone could refer me to a good amp tech
in the South Shore/eastern Mass. I have an 85 Studio Preamp
that needs a cap job. I've bought this unit new in 85. Unfortunately,
after 22 years, it's most definately due for maintenance. GC in
Attleboro couldn't help me and a few other techs I spoke to don't
have experience with Boogies.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've called Mesa and left a message, I'm hoping
they'll get back to me today.

Thanx for the suggestion,
Jman

Three days you say,.........
well hopefully sooner than later!!

Thanx for the info!!

I just left a message too few minutes ago, i'm pretty confident they'll call back soon...

I'm just wondering if i can connect only 1 ouput from my recto pre in a head's power amp section without problem... or i need to put a load( some-kind of resitor in the second ouput)

Soundpurist,

What I do with my Studio Pre is use one of the recording outs
straight into my amps input, I use a 65 Fender Dual Showman with
an Avatar 2x12 cab. Never had any problems using it in this way.

It does say in my manual that I can use the SP as an "effects box"
and I use it for reverb, the effects loop and the obvious clean and
lead channels that my Fender doesn't have. Sounds great too!!

Check your manual, it may have your answer there.

Cool! but i still wanna have the opinion of a mesa tech for further info. I already know that you can use a switcher between the recto pre's record output and amp output for different sounds. The SP with a fender dual showman amp must sound great in your 2X12!
