mark IIC+ straight into soundcard

hi,

i have mark IIC+ (SX) and mark I (very late original or very early reissue - it has effects loop that apparently works better than one in IIC+) and i would like to plug either's preamp directly into my soundcard (ESI Juli@) to try some IR cab simulations. Is there any risk of damaging soundcard's input with mesa's preamp signal? Do i need DI box to do this? for example randall MTS system works fine this way but i don't know about mesa since these old loops are pretty "non-standard"

You have the slave out which is designed for what you're looking for. It doesn't sound that good though, I always mic my cab.

slave out works great, thx a lot i'll post some results asap, imo some redwirez ( http://www.redwirez.com/ ) impulses are as great as well recorded cab (good one of course ).

No, it won't damage anything. I did exactly what you're talking about with my Mark IIB and now I'm doing it with my Mark III and it's amazing. If you're using a head, you MUST have a speaker load connected, though. I don't think it matters how loud the master volume is on the amp because you should have a volume for the slave out, but make sure you have a speaker connected if it's a head. And, I wouldn't use a DI box because I don't think you need one. I never used one and my setup worked perfectly.

it works perfectly, here are some rawmix results everything is mark IIC+ w/ PRS custom 24 and some redwirez impulses (G12M25 or G12M20 miked with SM57 and some royer mic, i can't remember exact specs)
