A dear friend of mine, owner of vast Mesa rack products collection, have asked for help making a new pair of rack ears for his Studio preamp (somehow it didn't bring them when he bought it) and I did it. If some of you need a new set of ears for your Studio preamp, hit me up.

Next will take care of the Quad ears as it was damaged during shipping...and since there is almost zero Mesa distribution in EU, I will probably make a new rackmount kit for his latest: the IIC+.

It's time for some more Mesa/Boogie rack content: this Quad preamp also needed some tlc...one of the ears was badly damaged during shipping, and although it could be saved (it had to be straightened and powder coated again), it made more sense making new ones, which I did. Back to the rack of power!

Really nice work. I went through the search for a studio Pre years ago and couldn’t find any solution for rack ears. Ended up selling it and getting a quad, which had ears intact.

Hello Eduardo! I just stumbled upon your post. I recently refurbished my 1989 Quad Preamp, but still missing the original ears. How much to get a pair made and sent them my way? I live in Norway.
Here is before and after pictures. Had to order chassis screws, knobs and the missing potentiometers. Fortunately nothing else had to be exchanged. Now it works perfectly except for what sounds like a ground hum (might be capacitors due for replacement). Any ideas?

PM sent.

Eduardo, I also just found this post in my search for some rack ears to safely store my Boogie Quad. The ears that came with the unit look like they had been crushed in a high-speed tractor-trailer accident. :p

If you had a set of Quad ears for sale, I would be a very thankful customer!
